We were on the island for the first time as summer visitors. We would like to thank the doctors at the emergency room of the Kalloni Hospital who treated us with kindness, removed our son's stitches and examined me for possible bronchitis. Friendly, polite and apparently experienced.

We've been trying to make an appointment to get some medication since the morning of the beginning of the month when the appointment schedule is supposed to open. We've called several times and they're all busy. They can't even answer the phone and they keep picking up the phone, irrelevant, which is a shame, and then we say it's Adonis' fault.

Someone once told me.. always say the good, think about the bad before you say it.. I always believed that in order to practice well and above all with value a profession that concerns humans and the human body, you must first of all be a good person. No matter how much knowledge you have, no matter how much reading you have done, if you don't have humanity in you, nothing is done properly.. And because a lot is said and heard from time to time about public health, public hospitals, etc., I always believed that the A and Z are the staffing of these.. I agree that in some places there is a lack of infrastructure.. But health is primarily brought by people and then by infrastructure.. To make a long story short.. At the end of March I removed an olive on my head, which had to be removed by a plastic surgeon.. Minor surgery. I was informed by a general surgeon at the hospital that someone was coming to the island, I contacted him, he saw me and after an appointment he removed it at the island's hospital. According to him, it was a routine operation. I will not refer to the discomfort after the operation or the attitude of that person, because the purpose of my post is not to talk about this person. For better or worse, there is Google, which many people consult and if I write something, I will write it in his name on Google… Last week I went to the Kalloni Health Center to have my stitches removed because the 15 days that I was supposed to have them had passed… Suspecting that something was wrong with the stitches on my head, the doctor told me that I had an infection because my hair had gotten tangled in the stitches and this caused an infection… She told me that it would take a while to go away but with proper treatment and monitoring it would go away.. Since then until today they have been monitoring me almost every day.. So in this post I would like to express my admiration, gratitude and say a huge thank you to the nursing staff of the Kalloni Health Center who, Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, every day without exception, those people do everything to keep us well, on an island with so many people.. But an even bigger thank you to MRS. Anna Vlachou who from that day on who removed my stitches, she watches over me almost daily and helps me in my recovery first as a person and then as a doctor. I have known for years that she is a doctor in my place but as a person I did not know her.. Until a few days ago… There is still hope when these people exist and they are doctors in our place.. I wish all doctors were like this.. Happy and blessed Holy Week to all the world.. With health and love..

I had the worst sickness of my life at around midnight on a Sunday, I can’t thank them enough, every person who works there was an angel, they were so sweet to me. They helped me until the moment I felt better enough to go home. They were very professional and cautious.

We had to be hospitalized last Tuesday 9/1/2024. I will not dwell on the facilities which are simply the facilities of a Greek hospital, with all that this entails. I would like to thank the morning shift doctor and the midday doctor (rural), the midday nurse as well as the director, they were all people (something rare these days), finally, I would like to thank Mrs. Mary a little more, she is simply wonderful. May you all be well.

On 2/8/2022 we visited the Kalloni health center due to my mother's illness (fever and abdominal pain). Due to the fever, we were referred to the Suspects area in order to be examined at the specific clinic, which we considered completely reasonable. What was unacceptable, however, was that in the Suspects waiting area there were only two chairs that were already occupied by other patients. The result was that my sick mother had to wait an hour in the sun standing up, until a seat became available, and until it was her turn to be examined. I wonder what would have happened if her condition had been more serious, if it had rained or snowed. It is not possible that after two years of covid 19, there has not been serious care for a humane and dignified waiting area in the Suspects department. Also, regardless of the unacceptable waiting area, I would like to emphasize the excellent and qualified treatment he received from the Medical Staff. I hope that the next time I pass outside the Health Center I will see chairs, an awning...maybe even a protective plastic around...Winter is coming too
