Excellent food in a very traditional place at the heart of Mytilini. Service was a bit slow to order but then the food came very fast. Everything was very tasty & felt home-made. Definitely recommended
All were good. Especially the fava, zucchini flower dolma, lakerda but the octopus in wine is exceptional. It was so delicious. The old bar, mirrors, all decoration was nice, you feel like you are in the beginning of 20th century. Prices are moderate.

We tried the octopus in wine, meatballs, cacıki and fried kalamar and everything was very tasty. The meatballs are especially fine, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The octopus in wine was tender and well balanced and the fried kalamar was fresh and light. Portions were satisfying and the overall quality of the food was excellent. A great spot to enjoy classic local dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Historic Kafenenion O Ermis is an authentic Greek taverna from the 1800s in Lesbos. The quaint restaurant serves up some of the best home style Greek food you will find. The service was exceptional - you really feel like part of the family. The location is fabulous and I recommend arriving around sunset for the most picturesque view of the streetscape. One of the must try restaurants in Lesbos.

The highlight of our weekend in Lesvos was definitely Kafeneion O Ermis! The interior design is quite impressive, but we chose to sit in the open-air section for dinner. It’s a very popular restaurant operating with a reservation system — even though all tables were full, new guests kept arriving. Luckily, we didn’t have any trouble getting a table. As always, the table was set with the classic olive-patterned kraft paper and a pitcher of ice-cold water. We enjoyed octopus cooked in wine, Greek salad, and stuffed zucchini flowers with a glass of white wine (Retsina)— everything was delicious. Due to the crowd, they couldn’t take our dessert order, but that gives us a reason to return :) And of course, the island’s iconic cats were there too!

I visited a historic taverna in Mytilini and had mixed feelings. I rated it 3/5 because it’s not what it used to be. Many dishes on the menu were unavailable, and we were only informed after sitting down—not just seasonal items, but many others too. The grilled cuttlefish was overcooked and tough to chew. However, the fried dishes and anchovies were very tasty. The service was good timing-wise, and the waitresses were kind, but the fact they kept saying ‘we don’t have this or that’ kind of frustrated me. Some alternative recommendations or suggestions off the menu coming from the waitress might have been nice. The atmosphere, rich with history, is the highlight if you’re looking to experience an old traditional “kafenio” style taverna.

The atmosphere is very cozy, an old rum tavern. The staff were friendly and meticulous about customer satisfaction. the food was delicious. We ordered saganaki, zucchini balls, fava, aubergine salad, octopus cooked in wine, grilled calamari and chicken tigania with ouzo. I didn't like the calamari very much, the octopus was cooked very well, the consistency was very good but the taste was not very original. Fava was not very suitable for my taste.

This is a traditional Tapas style restaurant at the heart of Mytilene. Story goes that it has been around in one form or another since the 1800s. An attractive decor with old memorabilia and a beautiful space inside is what to expect in terms of ambience. It captures the essence of the times gone. Food Quality is great, portions are decent and prices are very reasonable. It also has quite an impressive Ouzo list if you’re into that. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. what more to ask? Must try

Incredible option for lunch, the food quality was beyond and the dishes were simple yet delicious. Its worth the walk. The staff spoke english well, but Id advice you to be flexible and friendly, maybe trying to order in greek. That will take you a long way! We recommend the greek salad and the sardines, as well as the stuffed zucchini flowers and the grilled calamari. There was an Orzo with osobuco which is a must!

I had the most wonderful experience here for dinner. The ladies at the restaurant were super sweet and really nice. The food was fast, homey and so delicious. The menu is in Greek and English. My favourite meal in Mytilini by far. I ordered the zucchini flowers, meatballs in tomato sauce and shrimp saganaki. Everything was so hearty and comforting, especially on a cold night. Prices were very reasonable for the portion size. I was also given a few pieces of fried cheese to try, and a lemony tasting dessert. I left feeling so comfortably full and happy. I was there ridiculously early because I was starving, so the restaurant was quiet. But, the atmosphere is homey, and there is light, quiet Greek music playing in the background. Many tables inside and outside. Wonderful experience, and I am glad it shaped my last experience of a beautiful island and Greek hospitality.
