Great location to swim and eat. Very delicious food with reasonable prices. A calm, serene place. Bees and wasps could be a bit of a problem in July and August but the restaurant has found ways to stop them bothering you like burning Greek coffee.
Perfect location close to the sea. Very friendly and fast table service. The food is delicious and well prepared. Prices are also more than reasonable. Parking is available in front of the location but also 200 meters away at the beach as free street parking. I can only recommend this restaurant.

Incastonata ai margini di uno dei più incantevoli porti di pescatori di Lesbo, la Kagia Fish Taverna è il genere di luogo che le ricorda il motivo per cui ha scelto di venire su un'isola greca. Skala Sykamineas è un minuscolo e straordinariamente bello villaggio portuale sulla costa settentrionale di Lesbo, con i suoi colorati caicchi che dondolano sotto il gelso che ombreggia la piazza del porto — lo stesso villaggio che ha ispirato lo scrittore Stratis Myrivilis e la sua celebre opera. Su questo sfondo, Kagia propone una cucina semplice e profondamente appagante, a base di pesce fresco dell'Egeo cucinato in modo semplice e servito con onestà. Il menu segue i ritmi dei pescherecci piuttosto che un cartoncino stampato: si mangia ciò che i pescatori hanno portato quella mattina stessa. Può aspettarsi pesce intero alla griglia, polpo essiccato alla brezza marina e grigliato sulla carbonella, calamari fritti con una spruzzata di limone e quel tipo di zuppa di pesce che non ha bisogno di aggiunte. I tavoli spesso si riversano sul lungomare, dove la vista sullo stretto canale verso la costa turca è una presenza costante e quieta. La cucina è senza fronzoli e sicura dei propri ingredienti, l'olio d'oliva è locale, il vino servito freddo e schietto. Per i visitatori, fermarsi da Kagia non riguarda solo il pasto: significa sintonizzarsi con il ritmo di un villaggio dove il mare scandisce ancora la vita quotidiana. Skala Sykamineas accoglie molti meno turisti delle località del sud, il che rende l'accoglienza genuina e l'atmosfera rilassata. Sia che Lei arrivi dopo una camminata mattutina lungo il sentiero costiero da Molivo, o semplicemente guidi verso nord per pranzo, Kagia è il genere di taverna di cui si ritroverà a parlare a lungo dopo aver lasciato l'isola.

Cosa aspettarsi
Pranzare da Kagia significa sedersi a pochi metri dall'acqua mentre le caicchi dondolano nel porto alle spalle e la costa turca si intravede oltre lo stretto. Il menu segue il pescato del mattino — pesci interi alla griglia, polpo alla brace, vino locale fresco — servito senza fronzoli ma con piena fiducia nella qualità degli ingredienti. Il paese è così silenzioso che tra un piatto e l'altro si sente l'acqua.
Periodo migliore
Dalla tarda primavera ai primi giorni d'autunno è il periodo migliore; luglio e agosto portano più visitatori, ma la costa nord di Lesbo rimane molto più tranquilla rispetto alle località balneari del sud.
Come arrivare
Da Mitilene si percorre la strada verso nord-ovest passando per Kalloni e Molivos, circa un'ora e un quarto di guida su strade tortuose, per poi scendere lungo la strada costiera fino a Skala Sykamineas; la taverna si trova proprio sul bordo del piccolo porto.

Excellent grilled fish food, this is where you want to go for classic and traditional food. Every day is a surprise what’s avaible with fresh fish. I got the impression that this is where the locals go and eat. We were the only English talking tourists 🤣 Nice stoney beach but no sunbeds. Road towards it is ok.

An amazing hidden place to eat or to come for dessert and a coffee. Close to the Beach for a great rest. Recommend for families and friends. Had a pleasant day coming here.

You can't go wrong in this family tavern. Very fresh fish and sea food everything is handmade with love. Very nice environment right on the beach under beautiful trees and full of colors flower garden. The service is UNBELIEVABLE kind and extremely friendly!

This place makes me very happy. They serve delicious fresh fish right at the beach and have the friendliest staff. Prices are more than reasonable, everything is fresh, vegetables come from the garden. Looking forward to eating here every time we come here <3
