Prende il nome dalla figlia più celebre dell'isola, l'antica poetessa lirica Saffo che si dice abbia legami proprio con questo angolo di Lesbo, l'attività cattura qualcosa della fiera identità culturale dell'isola, rispondendo al contempo alle esigenze pratiche dei visitatori moderni. La combinazione di alloggio in studio e noleggio auto sotto lo stesso tetto rende questa una scelta particolarmente pratica per i viaggiatori indipendenti. Gli ospiti in arrivo possono sistemarsi nelle loro camere e organizzare immediatamente un'auto per i giorni successivi, senza il fastidio di dover coordinare diversi fornitori. Cosa aspettarsi
Ritirare le chiavi dello studio e quelle dell'auto a noleggio in un'unica fermata è una comodità rara che su un'isola grande e varia come Lesbo fa davvero la differenza. Gli studio si trovano nelle silenziose strade residenziali di Vareia: quiete abbastanza da garantire un buon riposo, eppure a pochi minuti dal lungomare e dalle taverne di Mitilene.
Periodo migliore
Da aprile a ottobre è il periodo più indicato per questo tipo di soggiorno; nei mesi estivi è consigliabile prenotare con largo anticipo.
Come arrivare
Vareia si trova a circa 3,5 km a sud del centro di Mitilene — una decina di minuti in auto o taxi dal porto o dall'aeroporto.

We had an amazing time. The rooms are very clean and modern. Stratos (our host) also helped us a lot with picking all the best places to visit on Lesbos (he was never wrong). I would recommend everyone that visits Lesbos to book a studio at Sappho studios.

A very good option for a quiet stay close to Mytilene. The room was spacious. Two different areas avery large bedroom and a large sitting room where you can find two more bed's Andy a kitchen full equipped. Perfect for 4 persons The mattresses were amazing very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful stuff. We will visit again.

Been there three times already and I definitely recommend it. Clean, cozy and well arranged rooms for travelers of any kind. Friendly and polite staff who proved to be really helpful in various occasions. With enough free space on their parking, we were carefree of leaving our vehicles in a safe lot. Once a year there are external or internal renovation, in different parts of their facility so each time I've been there, there was something new added to the already nice quality of their services and neat rooms. That being said, there has been no disturbance in our accomodation except of the nature sounds. The sea is in walking distance and there are few cafeterias nearby as well as a surprisingly complete mini market.
