Copyright & takedown requests
Discover Lesvos is a free, non-commercial directory of the Greek island of Lesvos. We catalogue villages, beaches, businesses, churches, museums and historic sites with descriptions written for visitors and locals who want to understand the island.
We do not claim copyright over the photographs displayed on this site. The original rights to each photograph belong to the person who took it. If you are that person and you want a photograph of yours removed, we will do that within 48 hours of a good-faith request.
Where the photos come from
- Some photographs were originally uploaded to Google Maps by visitors and business owners, and are surfaced here as part of place listings.
- Some come from publicly indexed business websites and other public sources.
- Some are submitted directly by visitors using our photo submission form, which carries an explicit licence to publish with attribution.
- Where we know the photographer or original source, we credit them. Where we don't, we don't claim ownership ourselves.
If you own a photo and want it removed
You don't need to identify yourself beyond a way for us to confirm removal. We don't share contact information from takedown requests. Use the form below, or email takedown@discover-lesvos.com.

What happens next
- We confirm receipt of your request within 48 hours by email.
- We remove the contested photograph and, where possible, replace it with a visitor-submitted alternative.
- We keep a private log of each request so we can answer follow-up questions, and so we don't re-introduce the same photograph by mistake.
- We don't publish your name, email address, or any other details from your request.
