About this Beach
Faneromeni si trova sulla costa occidentale esposta vicino a Sigri, dove il mare Egeo aperto incontra il paesaggio vulcanico che caratterizza questa estremità dell'isola di Lesbo. La più grande delle due spiagge di Faneromeni è battuta dal vento e presenta spesso onde agitate — spettacolare e bella, ma non sempre adatta alla balneazione. Un piccolo caffè offre ristoro. La spiaggia più piccola, divisa da un fiume poco profondo, crea piscine naturali di marea ideali per famiglie con bambini piccoli e per chi preferisce acque calme e basse. Entrambe le spiagge traggono vantaggio dalla vicinanza al villaggio di Sigri, che offre eccellenti taverne specializzate in pesce fresco. L'area di Faneromeni è tra le coste meno sviluppate di Lesbo, con una qualità grezza ed elementare che ricompensa i visitatori che apprezzano la natura selvaggia.

Cosa aspettarsi
Le due spiagge di Faneromeni offrono esperienze molto diverse: la più grande si apre sull'Egeo aperto con onde che si infrangono su una riva vulcanica — spettacolare anche nelle giornate in cui il bagno è sconsigliato — mentre la più piccola, attraversata da un ruscello poco profondo, forma pozze naturali tranquille ideali per le famiglie con bambini. A pochi minuti d'auto, il villaggio di Sigri propone trattorie sul lungomare con pesce freschissimo e un'atmosfera autentica. Questa è una delle coste meno sviluppate di Lesbo, con un fascino selvaggio e incontaminato.
Periodo migliore
Da fine maggio a settembre per fare il bagno; nelle giornate di vento, la spiaggia più piccola con le sue pozze protette è preferibile a quella grande esposta alle raffiche.
Come arrivare
Da Mitilene si guida verso ovest attraverso Kalloni fino a Sigri: il tragitto richiede circa un'ora e mezza o due ore.

A beautiful beach with tamarisk trees, not crowded, with one crappy cafe that has a nice name and from which we expected more. It's a shame there isn't a tavern on the beach.

Wonderful quiet small pebble long beach with clear waters and beautiful sunsets. Only problem is it is rarely totally calm due to its position. Surely one in my top three on the island. A very unique old bar completes the far end of the road experience (no fancy mainstream beach bar for those who are looking for something like that).

beach with pebbles and sand.Gets deep quickly,but water is crystal and clean.There is a river and lots of baby turtles in it.They are Very friendly:) There is a cantina and tables under the tree.So you dont need an umbrella or sunbed.The lady makes awesome lemonade.Cold beer ,juices and icecream are served with reasonable prices.
