L'Hotel Petrino si trova nel villaggio di Molyvos, una delle mete più celebrate di Lesbo, dove un castello bizantino medievale corona la cima della collina e le tradizionali case in pietra scendono a cascata verso un incantevole porticciolo. Il nome Petrino — che in greco significa "pietra" — rimanda direttamente all'anima architettonica di questo angolo dell'isola, dove secolari tradizioni costruttive in pietra vulcanica locale conferiscono al villaggio il suo carattere distintivo e senza tempo. Gli ospiti che soggiornano qui si trovano nel cuore di un borgo che ha ispirato artisti e scrittori per generazioni.
Soggiornare all'Hotel Petrino significa avere a portata di mano tutto ciò che Molyvos ha da offrire: i labirintici vicoli acciottolati del centro storico, le taverne sul lungomare che servono pesce appena pescato nell'Egeo e le viste spettacolari dai bastioni del castello che si estendono sul mare fino alla costa turca. Che si tratti di esplorare il villaggio a piedi, di partire alla scoperta della famosa foresta pietrificata di Lesbo, delle terme di Eftalou, o degli uliveti e dei villaggi di pescatori lungo la costa settentrionale, l'hotel è una base ideale per vivere quest'isola ricca di sfaccettature. Il suo nome e la sua posizione promettono un autentico senso del luogo che i grandi resort difficilmente riescono a offrire.

Cosa aspettarsi
I vicoli acciottolati di Molyvos la avvolgono al primo passo fuori la mattina — la sagoma del castello in alto, il porto in basso e la salsedine dell'Egeo nell'aria tra le case. Il villaggio invita a indugiare: un caffè sul lungomare, una salita lenta tra le viuzze a gradini, una serata con lo sguardo rivolto alle luci della costa turca oltre lo stretto.
Periodo migliore
La stagione principale va da maggio a ottobre; settembre e ottobre offrono giornate calde con molto meno affollamento rispetto al picco di luglio e agosto.
Come arrivare
Molyvos si trova a circa un'ora di guida a nord di Mitilene seguendo la strada principale settentrionale dell'isola, che attraversa uliveti e piccoli villaggi fino a quando il borgo medievale compare all'orizzonte.

I stayed for two nights in September as a single person. The hotel is a bit dated, but very clean. The rooms are large and spacious. I was truly surprised by the cleanliness. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is a bit limited, but otherwise, it's a comfortable hotel.

Stayed the first week of September, super friendly staff, and the building has been partially renovated. We had room 208 with both a sea and a castle view. The bathroom was small but clean. Breakfast was simple but good. The city center is a 10-minute walk away. And in the evenings, it's very quiet for a good night's sleep. We had a great stay. We will definitely be back.

Stayed here for 10 days with my girlfriend. A warm welcome; in our case, our suitcases were brought up to the first floor. Great room, good beds (very important), we found the breakfast more than fine. The service was top-notch, both in the hotel and at the pool. The hotel/apartment is in a beautiful location; you can walk straight into the city center. Highly recommended 👍

We stayed for three nights this August. We checked in early and they kept our luggage after we checked out. Magda, the hotel manager, and all the other staff were very friendly and helpful. I thank them for their hospitality. The pool is spotlessly clean, and there are ample sun loungers around it. There wasn't a huge crowd; three or five people were using the pool besides us. The hotel rooms are quite large. The kitchen has an oven, stovetop, kettle, dishwasher, toaster, and other kitchenware, but we didn't use it because breakfast was included. The hotel's location is also excellent, within walking distance of all of Molyvos. It overlooks the castle. There's free parking opposite. It's also close to the bus stop for those arriving by bus. There's also a supermarket with very reasonable prices right across from the hotel.

Wonderful hotel in the best location of Molyvos!!! Comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean, full breakfast and the pool is wonderful!!! A favorite habit in the evening is a drink at the hotel bar with a view of the illuminated castle!!!! The great asset of the hotel, however, is Magdalena, Kostis, Stratis and Giannis!!! The kindest and most smiling staff we have ever met!!! They really enslaved us!!!!! The next stay in Lesvos will definitely be at Petrino again!!!!

The kids are wonderful. Very helpful, smiling and friendly. The hotel is spotless and neat. The rooms are comfortable, clean and large with a wonderful view. The pool is fantastic with a view of the castle. Even though you are in the city it is quiet. I highly recommend it to everyone, I will definitely choose it again!!!
