Perfect place to stop by while wandering around just by the sea and castle. So many choices for special teas and sandwiches. I recommend the tea with tuna bagette sandwich. Portions are so big just as everywhere in Greece.

Nascosto vicino al tranquillo borgo di Alyfada, Fisheye è una di quelle scoperte che premiano i viaggiatori curiosi disposti ad avventurarsi fuori dai sentieri turistici più battuti. Il nome stesso allude a un modo particolare di vedere il mondo — una prospettiva intima e ravvicinata che rispecchia l'esperienza senza fretta e ricca di dettagli che questa parte di Lesbo tende a offrire. Che lo si incontri per caso esplorando le strade che attraversano l'interno dell'isola o lo si cerchi di proposito, il luogo emana quel carattere semplice e senza pretese che definisce la vita locale lontano dalle località turistiche più affollate.
Il paesaggio circostante è tipicamente lesbio — oliveti, muri a secco e un cielo che qui sembra più ampio e silenzioso che quasi ovunque nell'Egeo. Fermarsi a Fisheye dà ai visitatori l'opportunità di connettersi con quel ritmo più lento, di sperimentare un tipo di ospitalità che ha poco a che fare con le infrastrutture turistiche e molto con un'accoglienza genuina. La vicinanza ad Alyfada significa che si è anche a portata dei semplici piaceri del villaggio: kafeneions ombreggiati, vicoli tortuosi e la sensazione che qui sia cambiato molto poco negli ultimi decenni.
Per i viaggiatori che apprezzano l'autenticità più della raffinatezza, una visita a Fisheye è un promemoria del perché Lesbo si guadagni costantemente la reputazione di una delle isole più caratteristiche dell'Egeo. È il tipo di posto che non si annuncia a gran voce, eppure rimane impresso nella memoria molto tempo dopo che il traghetto vi ha riportato a casa — un piccolo angolo sincero di un'isola che eccelle proprio in questo.

Il nome Fisheye svela l'anima del posto — un incontro intimo e senza fretta con la vita locale, appena fuori dal centro più animato di Mitilene. L'atmosfera è semplice e genuina, con un'accoglienza che nasce dal carattere dell'isola, non dall'industria turistica. Il vicino quartiere di Alyfada completa il quadro: uliveti, muri di pietra e un ritmo che non conosce la frenesia dei resort.
Periodo migliore
Fine primavera e inizio autunno sono i momenti migliori; le serate a Mitilene rimangono piacevoli anche in luglio e agosto.
Come arrivare
Fisheye è raggiungibile a piedi dal porto di Mitilene — o con pochissimi minuti in auto — nelle stradine del quartiere Alyfada, appena fuori dal centro città.

Great little spot for a quick bite- or drink. Toilets are clean, staff is friendly and prices are fair. Very good food. 4 stars all around

June 2025 - Still top quality! Great service ! Congratulatioms to the gentlemen behind the bar for the excellent coctails ! Fisheye is already a tradition of Mytilene. September 2021 - A place that one can enjoy a coffee or a drink in the historical Epano Scala district in the town of Mytilene. There is a direct view to the old port that makes the enjoyment even greater. I was very impressed with the skills of the bartender there, the cajpirinha and Mai Thai coctails were absolutely spot on. Great service !!

Located at "epano skala" which is the old town harbour of Mytilene. Fisheye offers coffee, snacks, and great cocktails. There are a lot of board games to have fun with your friends. At night you can drink your beer listening nice music. They orginize also many live happenings with local bands.
