Nascosto nel tranquillo villaggio di Alyfada, il Kafeneio P è il tipo di luogo che ha ancorato la vita dei villaggi greci per generazioni. Il kafeneio, o caffè tradizionale, è un'istituzione profondamente intrecciata nel tessuto sociale di Lesbo e del più ampio mondo egeo — uno spazio dove la gente del posto si riunisce per sorseggiare un caffè greco forte, giocare a tavli (backgammon), scambiarsi notizie e semplicemente trascorrere le ore in buona compagnia. In un villaggio come Alyfada, fuori dai sentieri battuti dal turismo, un kafeneio come questo funge da cuore pulsante della comunità. Per i visitatori, entrare al Kafeneio P è un'opportunità per vivere un lato tranquillo di Lesbo che il turismo organizzato raramente raggiunge. Aspettatevi un interno semplice, una manciata di tavoli che forse si estendono su una terrazza ombreggiata, e un menu incentrato sul caffè greco, il freddo espresso, l'ouzo e magari una birra fredda. Qui il ritmo è lento e l'accoglienza genuina. Alyfada si trova nel paesaggio dell'entroterra orientale di Lesbo, dove uliveti e muri in pietra definiscono il paesaggio e i ritmi della Grecia rurale persistono ancora. Fermarsi al Kafeneio P offre più di un semplice ristoro: offre un momento di connessione con il villaggio stesso, un'occasione per vedere come vivono realmente gli abitanti di questa straordinaria isola. Per chi esplora la campagna in auto o in bicicletta, è esattamente il tipo di sosta non pianificata che diventa un ricordo indelebile del viaggio.

Si accomodi a un tavolo, ordini un caffè o un ouzo e lasci scorrere il pomeriggio al suo passo naturale. È uno scorcio autentico della vita quotidiana di Lesbo che nessun tour organizzato è in grado di offrire.

Aperto tutto l'anno; nei mesi più freschi, da ottobre ad aprile, l'interno accoglie un'atmosfera particolarmente calorosa e vivace.

Il kafeneio si trova a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro di Mitilene, una sosta ideale durante una passeggiata per la città.

Surprisingly, there was no Greek salad on the menu. When I asked the waiter if there was anything similar, he simply said that "tomatoes are out of season"... which is strange, considering every other place in town seems to have tomatoes. Homeless beggars came into the restaurant and walked from table to table, and none of the staff seemed to pay any attention or ask them to leave. Unfortunately, I experienced digestive issues later at home.

Great place to spend a hot Sunday afternoon before taking the ferry to Piraeus. Good quality and inexpensive food. Not the usual Greek tourist fare, more traditional and regional dishes. Anywhere that offers Mizithra in salad outside of Crete deserves a special mention!

What a wonderful place to relax with friends at night. Both indoors and outdoors are a pleasant rest. The menu is rich in drinks and the food is very traditional. I definitely do recommend for groups not so much for little kids. Thanks for reading hope you find it helpful. 😇

My favourite place in Lesvos town. Relaxed atmosphere. Nice music. Friendly crowd and personnel. Exquisite small plates and very good prices. I keep coming back since 2013 that I discovered it.
