AWFUL. It doesn't even deserve one star. Regret. I would never go. The rooms are infested with bugs and they've put beds on bricks. The air conditioning is broken. The bathroom is disgusting. The drain is clogged. It's only near Molivos Castle, but that can be visited in a day. If you only stay at this location, it's very difficult to tour the island. The roads are very windy and one-way, and it's unsafe. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We swam everywhere except the hotel beach. We couldn't swim here, but it was very windy, dirty, and wavy. 4 families went for 6 nights and we were all very unhappy. Their toilet drain was clogged and they couldn't use the toilet. Lizards, mosquitoes, spiders, and ants invaded the rooms. The main hotel rooms are like prisons; you can't move. Everything is made of iron, very old, and uncomfortable. Never go.

Dear Guest,
Your feedback has been noted, and we would like to clarify a few important points to ensure a fair understanding for future readers.

The beach in front of the hotel is public, as everywhere in Greece. Weather conditions such as waves or wind can occasionally vary, especially during the autumn months, which are not typical of the calm and sunny climate our area enjoys for most of the season. Usually, the sea here is calm and crystal clear, as reflected in the majority of guest reviews.

All umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as the entire beach bar area, are brand new and part of a complete recent redesign. The minimum consumption policy simply covers the beach lease and the service provided by our staff. Complimentary sunbeds are also available by the pool and under the tamarisk trees.

The rooms in the main building are being gradually renovated, with full completion scheduled for next season. The bungalows will follow, as part of our ongoing renovation plan to reach 4-star classification by 2027. Although your reservation was not in a renovated room, all units are cleaned and maintained daily according to hotel standards.

As our property is surrounded by extensive gardens and nature, some insects may appear if balcony doors remain open, despite regular pest control treatments.

Regarding access, the road network around Molyvos and Petra is modern and well-maintained, though naturally includes some scenic winding routes typical of the island’s landscape.

Nevertheless, you did not contact the reception during your stay, so our team was unable to assist you immediately.

Kind regards,
The Delfinia Hotel & Bungalows Team

A Place I Love, But Service Needs Urgent Attention I rarely write reviews—but my love for Delfinia as a long-time customer compels me to share my thoughts about the pool, beach and restaurant (I don't stay at the hotel). The new chef is great: her cuisine is authentic, local , generous, and with a smart creative yet simple personal touch that makes all the difference. We loved the fact that it's not pretentious, and we have felt that this year's price increase was justified. The price/quality ratio is just right (please don't deteriorate it). However, the service has collapsed. The pool and beach team is consistently unwelcoming (which is rare in Greece) and with a shocking lack of professionalism on all dimensions : no smiles (except for one staff member), no eye contact, no proactivity, no organisation, no interpersonal skills whatsoever. I visited 10+ times from July to September 2025, hoping for improvement, but nothing changed. This place deserves better. An experienced, hands-on, capable team leader is urgently needed on the ground, at the pool, to coach this young team in dire straits and restore the warmth and efficiency that made Delfinia special.

Dear Guest,

Thank you sincerely for your detailed and honest feedback. We are truly delighted that you enjoyed our cuisine and the work of our new chef, as well as the value-for-money balance that we consistently strive to maintain.

We are sorry to hear that your experience with the pool and beach service did not fully meet your expectations. While we often receive positive comments about the friendliness and hospitality of our staff, we do recognize that there may have been moments where consistency was lacking. Please believe us that extensive training was carried out at the beginning of the season with a dedicated service supervisor, and we continue to work on improving our team every day.

We truly appreciate the love and sincerity with which you share your thoughts. Your comments help us see more clearly where reinforcement is needed and encourage us to become better. We hope that on your next visit we can offer you an experience worthy of your trust and affection for Delfinia.

With kind regards,

We loved this place. Good location, just 15 min walk from Mylovos town. Right next to the beach. The apartments were old style, but really nice and clean (Thanks to the wonderful cleaning staff). Pool is salt water, which is a big plus for me. However, the most impressive thing about this place, is the beach bar, which doesn't look like much, but among all the amazing food and restaurants at Lesbos, this was the greatest. Food is so hearty and delicious. If you don't like anything else here, this food will make it all worth while. We'll definitely come back!

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your kind words and for sharing such a detailed review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the location, the cleanliness of our apartments, the saltwater pool, and especially our beach bar. It means a lot to us that you consider its food among the very best you tried on Lesvos.

We are pleased to let you know that the beach bar will undergo its final transformation next year, as part of the broader renovations of our main buildings, rooms, and public areas. We look forward to welcoming you back so you can experience all these exciting improvements.

Warm regards,
Hotel Management

Delphinia Hotel is a place I truly enjoy staying at—warm, peaceful, and welcoming. The staff are amazing: friendly, helpful, and have excellent communication skills. The hotel has a nostalgic charm, with a unique 80s atmosphere. The so-called “bungalows” are actually two-story stone buildings that feel like mini villas. It's right by the sea, with a spacious garden and a lovely pool. The breakfast is also quite good and satisfying. One thing to keep in mind before coming: the rooms are not newly renovated. They are old but functional, so as long as your expectations are in line with that, you’ll really enjoy your stay. Cleanliness, on the other hand, is excellent—everything was very well maintained. Highly recommended for those looking to relax and be close to nature.

It is a great hotel with really helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was adequate with everything you need from continental to English breakfast. The pool, thou not directly on site, is amazing. Big pool with a stunning view of the castle. Overall really happy with this hotel and would definitely come back. Ps. A bonus for me as an animal lover, there are so many cats here.

Although the hotel is not considered a new hotel, the best thing about it is its cleanliness and well-maintained rooms. It has its own beach in front of the main facility and a pool right by the sea. Since it is located between Molyvos and Petra, you can easily go to the nearby places/activities. The breakfast is by far the best and it offers a wide variety of mouth-pleasing foods. We stayed in a room in the main property with a stunning sea view and were very pleased with our stay and enjoyed the peace and quiet. If we come again, we will definitely choose it again.

The hotel is located in a wonderful, lush green area, but from the moment we entered, it felt like an open museum from the 90s. It's rare to find a place that is so good yet has had so little investment. One of the beds in our room was quite saggy, and the bathroom, sink, and shower cabin were so old that they never felt clean. I don't think it justifies the price because it is very old and poorly maintained.

Dear Mrs Nurdan,
Good Day from Delfinia Hotel and Bungalows,
Thank you for your feedback and for choosing to stay with us. We’re truly sorry that certain aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations. We fully understand that some areas of the property reflect their age and may not offer the comfort you were hoping for.

That said, we’re excited to share that the main hotel building will undergo a full renovation in time for the 2026 season — including all guest rooms and public spaces. This transformation will significantly upgrade the overall experience, while preserving the natural beauty and tranquility of our location that so many guests appreciate.

We do hope you’ll consider visiting us again in the future, so we can offer you the kind of stay you deserve.

Warm regards,
Guest Relations Department

We went on holiday and had booked 2 rooms for a week. We had said that we would like to have them next to each other, but instead the rooms where almost at opposite ends of the hotel. We got rooms with evening sun and a good view of the sea. The beds were not the best for you as it was just a hard mattress placed on a wooden board. There is, however, free breakfast and a super good pool and pool bar. You can easily walk down to a fantastic beach. Pictures from Haumann Studios

We booked the ‘most expensive option,’ which is the superior bungalow with a sea view: a double bed and two twin beds, etc. When we (as a couple) checked in, the bungalow had only two twin beds. When we asked about this, they told us, "But you’re only two people?" Well, we’re a couple and prefer to sleep together. I guess that’s a reasonable request? They told me, unfortunately, two twin beds are the only option for the bungalows. A more serious issue than the twin beds was that there was NO wifi there. I’m working remotely, and wifi is extremely crucial for me. There is no way I can stay in a place without wifi since it’s not the 1500s anyway. The bungalow was not good and certainly did not deserve the money. That being said, we shared our feedback with the reception the next day, and they swapped our room with a regular room with a sea view immediately. They didn’t offer a partial refund, nor did I ask; I simply didn’t care as long as the room had a balcony and wifi at this point. This new room (#504) in the main building had wifi, but it wasn’t stable, so we ended up buying a new sim card to use only for the internet. Be prepared. It was really strange, but there wasn’t any plug near the beds or anywhere close to the bed. The only two options were the TV plug and the hair dryer plug, so we had to unplug those to use them for our cell phones. Overall, this old hotel has a great location with a decent beach and pool, and it has great potential! It’s really close to Molyvos center but the hotel really needs a proper renovation. Hotel staff were really lovely and helpful. As a picky vegetarian, I enjoyed the breakfast as well. Many thanks to all the staff. I hope you’ll use the full potential of this hotel, improve the rooms and solve the internet issue asap.

If I have to describe with one sentence, I would say ‘Old but gold’. The complex is extremely respectful to nature. The breakfast area is perfect and the quality is great compared with other hotels in Greece. Wherever you go inside the facility is so clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pool area is so nice with an amazing view of Molyvos. Watching sunset from the bar was estonishing. The only thing I can criticize is the old interiors but since the room was so clean and everything was working, it was not a big deal for us. Look forward to going back next year.
