A nice little bakery on the way to the beach, perfect for a quick breakfast stop. It’s nothing too fancy, but if you go for the traditional sweet or savory bougatsa in the morning while the pies are still warm, they’re delicious.
I really liked the sweets I chose. For each portion of sweets, they also offer you a glass of water. They also have a playground for children and a terrace where you can enjoy the sweets. I recommend the portokalopita, it's delicious 🤤

Hatzis Bakery is een lokale bakkerij die de gemeenschap van Mesotopos en de omliggende dorpen in het westen van Lesbos bedient. Verscholen in dit rustige agrarische hoekje van het eiland vervult de bakkerij de rol die zulke etablissementen altijd hebben gespeeld in het Griekse dorpsleven — een ochtendlijk ontmoetingspunt waar de geur van vers brood en gebak de bewoners aantrekt voor de dag begint. Bezoekers die onderweg zijn naar de Golf van Kalloni of de kastanjebossen in het binnenland vinden hier een gastvrije plek om even te pauzeren.
Een Griekse dorpsbakkerij als deze biedt doorgaans een assortiment van versgebakken broden, koulouri-sesamkransjes, tiropita en spanakopita, zoete gebakjes en seizoensspecialiteiten die de lokale producten weerspiegelen. Op Lesbos betekent dat vaak broden en zoetigheden die rijk zijn aan olijfolie, met een smaak die de Anatolische erfenis van het eiland weerspiegelt. Een tussenstop bij Hatzis is een kans om te eten zoals de inwoners van Mesotopos — eenvoudig, eerlijk, met ingrediënten die niet ver gereisd zijn.

De geur van vers brood en sesam bereikt u al voor u naar binnen gaat — Hatzis Bakkerij is het type dorpsbakker waar bewoners 's ochtends vroeg langskomen voor een tiropita of een koulouri. Het aanbod weerspiegelt de lokale traditie: olijfolierijke deegwaren en zoetigheden met sporen van de Anatolische erfenis van het eiland.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Het hele jaar open voor de plaatselijke bevolking; bezoekers komen het vaakst langs in het late voorjaar tot vroege herfst.
Hoe er te komen
Mesotopos ligt in het westen van Lesbos, ongeveer 48 km van Mytilini — reken op ongeveer een uur rijden. Het dorp ligt langs de Golf van Kalloni-corridor, op de route naar de kastanjebossen en Sigri.

It is very good place for sweets and ICE CREAM. Stop, take your time and you won't regret. But if you expect something special, this is not your place. Every time my family goes by we stop and eat ice cream 🍦. Prices totally OK

This bakery is a really good place to start your day or go for brunch/lunch - coffee, savoury and sweet pastry, sandwitches, cakes, ice-cream and cookies are available. The drinks are ice cold and for this they get extra positive points from our whole family. I recommend the spanakopita, chocolate cake and their take on pizza which is more of a pizzapita. Even though it has always been very busy when we visit, the staff works fast and the wait is not that long. The down side is that there are not that many parking spots for the visitors. Sometimes this can be a bit frustrating. Still the ride from Porto Koufo is worth it

Every our visit in Sithonia we come here for good coffee and fresh bakery. This is family bakery well known in Sithonia. Also you can find there Greek sweets and ice.

Big variety of pastries, ice cream, cakes and more, good coffee, nice place to sit, with kids activities in the garden. We loved the milfai cake and pastries, we will be back soon! No photos - everything was gone very quickly

A decent bakery for an early breakfast. We came through here on our way to Kriaritsi beach. They have a wide range to choose from and even sell some groceries. The pastries (especially the bougatsa) and cappucinonwe had were great, the Baklava was okayish. The personell was friendly and helpful even though it was bustling at the time we got there. We didn't try any bread but it looked good for sure.

Best waffels in the area. A great family bakery that offers sweet and savory pastries for breakfast and desert. Remarkable selection, good prices and smiling staff. Would visit every day for the amazing, fresh waffels with ice cream - perfect with vanilla, pistachio or caramel!
