Stopped for lunch. Had octopus and stuffed zucchini. They were very good. The view is priceless. Service was fast.
Me and my family were there as a big group, and all staff were so patient and caring, and so kind. We tried and loved many dishes, just sit and make an order anything you wish. You will like it

Χωμένη στο ήσυχο χωριό της Αλυφάδας, στις ανατολικές πλαγιές της Λέσβου, η Ταβέρνα «Ο Δήμος» ενσαρκώνει εκείνη την ανεπιτήδευτη, ειλικρινή ελληνική φιλοξενία που κάνει τους επισκέπτες να επιστρέφουν στο νησί χρόνο με τον χρόνο. Όπως πολλές οικογενειακές ταβέρνες που φέρουν ένα προσωπικό όνομα, ο Δήμος έχει τη ζεστασιά ενός μέρους που είναι ριζωμένο στην κοινότητά του — ενός τόπου όπου οι ντόπιοι μαζεύονται εδώ και χρόνια για απλά, καλομαγειρεμένα φαγητά, πολύ πριν φτάσουν οι τουρίστες.
Περιμένετε τα βασικά να γίνονται όπως πρέπει: ψητά κρέατα, φρέσκες σαλάτες με ντόπιο ελαιόλαδο, και εκείνοι οι μεζέδες που φτάνουν στο τραπέζι χωρίς πολλές τυπικότητες αλλά εξαφανίζονται σε χρόνο μηδέν. Το τοπίο της Αλυφάδας — λοφώδεις εκτάσεις, διάσπαρτα ελαιόδεντρα και ο ανεπίδεικτος ρυθμός ενός μικρού λεσβιακού χωριού — αποτελεί το φυσικό σκηνικό για ένα μακρύ, χαλαρό γεύμα. Η ταβέρνα προσφέρει μια ευπρόσδεκτη ανάσα από τα παραθαλάσσια πλήθη, καθώς βρίσκεται στο πιο ήσυχο εσωτερικό του νησιού, εκεί όπου ο ρυθμός της καθημερινής ζωής φαίνεται να έχει μείνει αναλλοίωτος.
Για τους επισκέπτες που εξερευνούν τα χωριά και την ύπαιθρο της κεντρικής Λέσβου, ο Δήμος αντιπροσωπεύει ακριβώς εκείνες τις στάσεις που κάνουν ένα ταξίδι αξέχαστο — όχι για το θέαμα, αλλά για μια κρύα καράφα ούζο, ένα πιάτο με ό,τι είναι φρέσκο εκείνη την ημέρα, και την ευκαιρία να καθίσεις ανάμεσα στους ντόπιους και να νιώσεις, έστω και για μια ώρα, κομμάτι της χωριάτικης ζωής σε αυτό το μοναδικό νησί.

Τι να περιμένετε
Καθίστε στα απλά τραπέζια και ο ρυθμός αλλάζει αμέσως — κρύα κανάτα ούζο, μεζέδες που φτάνουν αθόρυβα και χάνονται γρήγορα, ψητά που μοσχοβολούν ξυλιά. Τα ελαιόδεντρα γύρω από την Αλυφάδα και η ησυχία του χωριού δίνουν την αίσθηση ότι βρίσκεστε μακριά από τα παραθαλάσσια πλήθη, αν και η θάλασσα δεν απέχει. Αυτό είναι το είδος του μέρους όπου ένα γρήγορο μεσημεριανό γίνεται αθόρυβα δύο ώρες.
Καλύτερη εποχή
Από τα τέλη Απριλίου έως τις αρχές Οκτωβρίου· τα μακριά καλοκαιρινά βράδια ταιριάζουν ιδιαίτερα σε ένα αργό, χαλαρό τραπέζι.
Πώς θα φτάσετε
Η ταβέρνα βρίσκεται στην Αλυφάδα, στην ανατολική άκρη της Μυτιλήνης — μόλις λίγα λεπτά με τα πόδια ή με αυτοκίνητο από το κέντρο.

calamari, cuttlefish, anchovies, fried zucchini flowers and crab salad were very nice. Fast service. The place was cool in the hot weather. We had our meal here before the ferry and had a great closing

Great place, super good food - fresh sea food , really good burger - my kid was in heaven ! Me and my husband love calmari ( squids) - we were super suprised - so delicious! .. and at the end greek salad and that view! Old castle.. sunset.. sea.. rocks.. what else can make feel better?! Oh, there is sth more- sweet little kittens companion :)

We waited for 40 minutes. After 30 minutes they came and said that there was no left. They always brought the orders we wanted late and made us wait and gave the same orders to the tables that came after us. After seeing that we speak Turkish, I think they did this. It's really bad, after such good-intentioned friendly tradesmen, this is a complete disappointment, don't go!!!

You came at 4:30 a.m. on a day of celebration like this with so much work. Despite this, we welcomed you, made your table quickly and took your order. So because you told us you were in a hurry, we took dishes from other tables such as the burger and gave it to you to serve you as quickly as possible. Because 2 servings of french fries went first to another table and not to you, you called us out for not being professionals. Your nationality has nothing to do with my behavior, but your rudeness does.<br>We have Turkish friends and customers and they have never said anything like that about us. Your rudeness may be due to your haste to catch the ship, but the next time you will have to catch the ship it would be a better idea to go and have lunch earlier!

After visiting many restaurants on the island, I believe it's one of my favourite places in Mytilene. Parking on the street along the restaurants. The kitchen is on the other side of the road, therefore staff needs to cross the street a lot. Very friendly and efficient service. We've been served as we arrived with water and bread. Quickly after the order was taken. Food came after 10-15 minutes. All the plates worthy. Planty and super tasty. I can recommend this place with all my heart 💖 What we've ordered: We had zucchini flowers fried 😋 My number one was stuffer wine leaves with rice 😋😋 Also other dishes: Greek salad, wild leaves, Mitillini cheese - we asked to be grilled and it was the best way to eat that cheese.
