Les huit kilomètres de sable doré de Vatera s'étendent presque déserts de part et d'autre, bordés d'une mer peu profonde et tiède que dominent des collines couvertes d'oliviers. Chez Maistrelis Dimitrios, on s'installe sans se presser — transat, boisson fraîche, service qui reste authentiquement local et loin des complexes hôteliers bondés. Quand y aller
La saison de baignade s'étend de mai à octobre ; juillet et août concentrent le plus de visiteurs et une chaleur de midi parfois éprouvante.
Comment s'y rendre
Depuis Mytilène, prenez la route du sud en passant par Polichnitos jusqu'à Vatera — comptez environ 50 à 60 minutes sur une route intérieure sinueuse qui débouche sur une belle vue de la baie.

In Vatera we were lucky enough to be hosted during the first ten days of August by two genuine, wonderful people. Dimitris and Maria are not only ideal hosts, but also excellent ambassadors of lesbian hospitality. The room was spotlessly clean, with hot water and air-conditioning, while it had everything necessary to function as a base for excursions, on an island that attracts you from all sides. It was literally 20 meters from the beach, one of the best on the island. Very close to the room there is a bakery, mini market, restaurants and beach bars, so we didn't miss anything. In conclusion, this particular accommodation is ideal for families who want to spend their holidays on the island, outside the so-called "touristy" places. Dimitris and Maria, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. See you again!

Wonderful room, clean, bright, with all the comforts. Amazing view, starring the vast blue. The beach two steps from the courtyard of the accommodation. They hosted our children from Germany for a three-day stay and they went crazy. Thank you Maria and Dimitris. May our Panagia grant you all the best 🙏😍🥰

The accommodation is in an excellent location right in front of the sea. The rooms are large and very clean but need renovation. The blinds on the windows were difficult to close, the toilet lid was broken as were the glass in the toilet window. The beds were impeccable with new mattresses. Unfortunately, they only asked for cash, saying that it is not mandatory to have a POS. If you insist on a card, they will eventually serve you....
