Ενοικιαζόμενα Δωμάτια — letteralmente ‘camere in affitto’ in greco — rappresenta il modo più autentico e intimo per vivere Lesbo come visitatore. Situato vicino al villaggio costiero di Anaxos Skoutarou, questo tipo di alloggio è un’istituzione amata nelle isole greche, dove le famiglie locali aprono le loro case o pensioni costruite appositamente ai viaggiatori alla ricerca di una vera alternativa ai grandi hotel. Soggiornare in una camera come questa significa immergersi nei ritmi della vita di villaggio, dove le mattine iniziano con il suono delle barche da pesca che escono e le serate si trascorrono nelle taverne a pochi passi dalla porta. La zona intorno ad Anaxos è nota per la sua lunga spiaggia sabbiosa, le calme acque turchesi e lo spettacolare sfondo del Monte Lepetimno che si innalza a est. L’alloggio qui tende ad essere semplice, confortevole e senza pretese — camere pulite, forse una terrazza o un giardino in comune, e quel tipo di ospitalità personale che fa sentire gli ospiti come amici accolti piuttosto che clienti paganti. I padroni di casa sono spesso una fonte di conoscenza locale, indicando ai visitatori i posti migliori per nuotare, il pesce più fresco e gli angoli nascosti dell’isola che nessuna guida copre. Per i viaggiatori che vogliono rallentare e assorbire il vero carattere di Lesbo, scegliere una camera vicino ad Anaxos offre la base perfetta. Si è a breve distanza dall’incantevole villaggio di Petra con la sua iconica chiesa sulla scogliera, le sorgenti termali di Eftalou e i verdi uliveti e gli insediamenti tradizionali delle pendici del Lepetimno. Questo è il tipo di soggiorno che rimane nella memoria molto tempo dopo che l’abbronzatura è svanita — senza fretta, personale e profondamente legato al modo di vivere dell’isola.

Cosa aspettarsi
Soggiornare qui significa trovarsi a pochi passi da una delle più belle spiagge sabbiose della costa nord, con il monte Lepetymnos che si erge spettacolarmente oltre i tetti. La famiglia ospitante è spesso la migliore guida locale: Le dirà senza esitazione dove i pescherecci scaricano il pesce del mattino e quale angolo della baia rimane tranquillo più a lungo. Il ritmo è lento, il paesaggio genuinamente bello e l'esperienza assomiglia molto più a un soggiorno ospite di amici che a un semplice check-in in hotel.
Periodo migliore
Giugno e settembre offrono l'equilibrio ideale: abbastanza caldo per nuotare comodamente, con un affollamento molto inferiore rispetto al picco di luglio–agosto.
Come arrivare
Da Mitilene si percorre la strada verso nord attraverso Kalloni in direzione di Petra; Anaxos si trova appena oltre Petra, sui versanti occidentali del Lepetymnos, a circa 50–55 minuti dalla capitale.

The rooms were beautiful and clean with all the amenities. The balcony was very nice for breakfast or afternoon coffee. But best of all the owners. Polite, cheerful, ready to offer anything we asked for. Very close to the town of Mytilene and with easy parking. We thank our friends Zoe and Dimitris for the wonderful vacation we had and for recommending Angelos' rooms to us. We highly recommend them.

We went there for a holiday. We stayed for one night. It's in a quiet place on a side street. The rooms are clean and have everything you need (air conditioning, TV, hot water, stove, pots and pans, hairdryer, water heater, iron, etc.). The owners, a mother and son, are very attentive. We were pleased. Thank you.

We stayed at Angelos Rooms for one night. Both the mother and son were attentive and helpful. The room had air conditioning, a refrigerator, and basic kitchenware. It was quiet because it was located on a side street. We sat in the courtyard in the evening. We were pleased.
