Immersa nella tranquilla campagna vicino al villaggio di Alyfada, la Distilleria Eva — conosciuta localmente come Potopoiia Eva — è una produttrice artigianale che incarna la profonda tradizione di distillazione per cui Lesbo è celebrata in tutta la Grecia. L'isola è una delle principali regioni produttrici di ouzo del Paese, un'eredità radicata in generazioni di know-how tramandato attraverso laboratori familiari, e la Distilleria Eva porta avanti quello spirito in un ambiente intimo e autentico, lontano dal trambusto delle più grandi operazioni commerciali lungo la costa.
Una visita qui offre qualcosa che nessuno scaffale di supermercato può replicare: l'opportunità di incontrare l'ouzo e i distillati locali alla loro fonte. Il carattere della distilleria è senza fretta e personale, il tipo di luogo in cui l'artigianato è ancora visibile e le persone che ci sono dietro sono orgogliose di condividere ciò che producono. Cosa aspettarsi
Il profumo pungente dell'anice la accoglie ancora prima di varcare la soglia. Alla distilleria Eva può osservare gli alambicchi di rame in funzione e assaggiare l'ouzo direttamente dalla produzione artigianale in piccoli lotti. I produttori condividono con piacere la storia e i segreti di una tradizione familiare radicata nel tempo.
Periodo migliore
La primavera e l'inizio dell'autunno sono i periodi migliori per la visita; d'estate è preferibile arrivare al mattino, prima che il caldo diventi intenso.
Come arrivare
La distilleria si trova appena fuori dal villaggio di Alyfada, a circa dieci minuti di guida a nord di Mitilene lungo la strada costiera orientale.

Absolutely brilliant set up. Irene enlightened us with the history of the distillery and also the varied spirits available, including ouzo, gin , Mastika , and pomegranate. All of them were delicious incidentally and we purchased several bottles. We will return. Mark, Tracie and Alan , Sydney, Australia.

There are various liqueurs and ouzos, ..even though it is a production place, there is no price difference from the center...

5 stars isn't really enough. I've rarely seen such warmth and friendliness in the presentation and explanation of the various products. It's a bit hidden off the main street in the commercial district, but definitely worth a visit.

If you want to taste some ouzo and other Greek liquors, go here. They make different Greek liquors and you can taste them all. The lady provided us with info about them and we were able to buy liquors for good prices.

We visited an ouzo distillery this morning. First, we visited the museum and then we sampled a few drinks. Each one was more delicious than the last. We received a very polite welcome and were given ample time for a chat. Highly recommended.

One of the best ouzo distilery in the island of Lesvos.Ask to see the ouzo museum and have a drink in distinguist liquers.Mastic Tears made from masticha and Grenade home made pom liquer.
