We were at this restaurant yesterday and got the lamb chops, tzatziki, egg plant salad and saganaki, and everything was absolutely amazing. Best food and service in Anaxos by far!

Annidato nel tranquillo villaggio costiero di Anaxos Skoutarou, sulla sponda nord-occidentale di Lesbo, il Ristorante Elli è il tipo di taverna di quartiere che incarna lo spirito rilassato dell'estate sulle isole greche. La zona è amata per la sua lunga spiaggia sabbiosa, le acque basse e limpide e le ampie vedute verso la costa turca e il piccolo isolotto di Tsonia, e un pasto da Elli offre il perfetto complemento a una giornata trascorsa al mare.
Gli ospiti possono aspettarsi la cucina onesta e generosa che definisce la cultura delle taverne egee: pesce fresco e frutti di mare pescati nelle acque locali, carni alla griglia e una selezione di classici mezedes che si accompagnano naturalmente a una caraffa di vino locale ghiacciato o a un ouzo servito con ghiaccio. L'atmosfera è rilassata e accogliente, adatta sia alle famiglie che si sistemano dopo la spiaggia sia ai viaggiatori che desiderano trattenersi per un lungo pranzo pomeridiano mentre la luce cambia sull'acqua.
Per i visitatori che esplorano il nord-ovest più tranquillo e meno turistico di Lesbo, il Ristorante Elli rappresenta esattamente il tipo di sosta autentica e senza pretese che rende i viaggi alle isole così gratificanti. Anaxos stessa si trova a breve distanza dalla città medievale di Molyvos e dai sentieri della foresta pietrificata più a sud, rendendo Elli un naturale punto di ritrovo al termine di una giornata di esplorazione: un luogo dove mangiare bene, riposarsi e sentirsi veramente a casa su questa bellissima isola.

Cosa aspettarsi
Da Elli i tavoli sono abbastanza vicini al mare da sentire il suono delle onde mentre si mangia. Il menù ruota attorno al pescato del mattino — servito alla griglia con semplicità — accompagnato da mezedes freddi e vino locale ben fresco. L'atmosfera è tranquilla e genuina, frequentata da famiglie e viaggiatori che non hanno fretta di andare via.
Periodo migliore
Da fine maggio a settembre è il periodo più indicato; luglio e agosto portano molti visitatori ad Anaxos, quindi un pranzo infrasettimanale o una cena anticipata assicura un'esperienza più rilassata.
Come arrivare
Da Mitilene si percorre la strada verso Kalloni e poi Petra in direzione della costa nord-occidentale — la distanza su strada è sensibilmente maggiore di quella in linea d'aria, quindi si consiglia di calcolare circa un'ora o un'ora e un quarto di guida.

I honestly did not expect to fall in love with lamb chops… but Elli’s changed everything! These were the best lamb chops I’ve ever had - grilled to perfection, tender, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. And the crazy part? I’m usually not even a fan of lamb! I went there with a local friend, and now I understand why this place is a favorite. Locals always know best! I paired the lamb with a glass (okay, maybe two...) of Tzipouro, which worked wonderfully. Everything we ordered was spot on: – Stuffed vine leaves - full of flavor and comfort – Classic Greek salad - fresh, juicy, and generous – And of course, a side of tzatziki - that creamy, garlicky yogurt with cucumber and dill that completes every bite. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with kind service and a beautiful setting that makes you want to linger. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Anaxos.

I've had Lamb on the Spit chicken on the Spit excellent food homemade fries. Small salad and garlic bread. Hubbie had sausages as well reasonable priced. Bought out yogurt for a free dessert.

Lovely food ..octopus..then lamb and potatoes..delicious Suggest the two girls working tonight only get paid for half a shift !!..other half was spent sitting down and on their phones !!...me thinks they don't want to be here ! ...and a smile wouldn't go amiss ...couldn't fault the guys though

Excellent food, the grilled pork from the skewer was amazing. Reasonable price, friendly, family run traditional Greek taverna. Will be revisiting at some point during our holiday, recommend.

Easy to walk past thinking it's just a grill bar but don't you dare. Great people with simply cooked local food both on the grill and from the oven. Go once and you'll be drawn back time after time.
