We come here almost every year but this year the staff and owners were especially helpful with regards to helping my elderly granny.

Genesteld nabij het betoverende dorp Molyvos aan de noordkust van Lesbos, ontleent Hotel Amfitriti zijn naam aan de zeegodin uit de Griekse mythologie, een passend eerbetoon gezien de ligging aan een van de meest legendarische kusten van de Egeïsche Zee. Molyvos zelf is een juweel van het eiland — een middeleeuws heuveldorp, bekroond door een kasteel uit de Byzantijnse tijd, met terrassen van stenen huizen met terracotta dakpannen die naar beneden afdalen richting een pittoreske haven. Verblijven in een hotel met deze mythologische naam in zo’n omgeving plaatst gasten in het hart van wat Lesbos zo boeiend maakt. Hotel Amfitriti biedt accommodatie die bezoekers gemakkelijk toegang geeft tot de geplaveide straatjes van Molyvos, de taverna’s aan het water en de culturele rijkdommen van de omgeving. Gasten kunnen het indrukwekkende Genuese kasteel verkennen dat over het dorp waakt, zwemmen op nabijgelegen kiezelstranden langs de kristalheldere noordkust, of dagtochten maken naar de ouzodistilleerderijen, het versteende bos en de traditionele dorpen die het eiland rijk is. Of u nu komt tijdens de warme zomermaanden of in de rustigere tussenseizoenen wanneer het licht goudkleurig wordt en de drukte afneemt, het hotel vormt een comfortabele uitvalsbasis om deze bijzonder mooie hoek van Lesbos te ontdekken.

Wat u kunt verwachten
Het hotel ligt aan de voet van Molyvos, een middeleeuws bergdorp met een Genuees kasteel dat uitkijkt over de haven en de stenen huizen met terracotta dakpannen. Bezoekers wandelen graag door de geplaveide stegen, eten aan de waterkant bij een van de taverna's en zwemmen op de kiezelstrandjes langs de noordkust van Lesbos.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Eind mei tot september is ideaal voor een verblijf; juni en september bieden warmte en zon met aanzienlijk minder drukte dan in juli en augustus.
Hoe er te komen
Molyvos ligt op ongeveer 50 tot 60 minuten rijden ten noorden van Mytilini, via een route door olijfgaarden en traditionele dorpen langs de noordelijke kustweg.

Traditional Greek rooms in a beautiful building, simple but spotlessly clean. The location is perfect on the edge of the village with everything nearby Tavernas,nice little bars and small supermarkets to cover all your holiday needs. Nice gardens with a pool area where you can relax and take your breakfast. Depending on which room you take you would get a pool, country or village view with fantastic views of the castle thrown in, amazing. If you want 5* luxury it's not for you but in our opinion a holiday to Molyvos or Lesvos is not about that. Thoroughly Recommended !

If you're looking for a 5* hotel this is not for you, but if youre looking for real Greece, then this is perfect! Set just off the main road in a quiet little cobbled street surrounded by olive groves, it's so peaceful. The beauty of it is that all you need is within walking distance....beach, shops, tavernas, harbour and plenty of places to eat. The hotel is simple but spotlessly clean. The swimming pool is set in peaceful gardens with beautiful views up to the castle. Breakfast is typically Greek and can be taken sitting in the sun or under the shade of an olive tree in the garden. Some upstairs rooms have little balconies and downstairs ones have a little concrete sitting area. We were in 105, which looked out onto the cobbled street and the olive groves. It was lovely to sit out and people watch. I have seen complaints on some sites about the walk from the drop off point but its hardly a big distance. If you want real, peaceful Greece then I recommend this hotel. So many of the people we met were returning guests. That has to tell you something!

Typical basic Greek hotel with a pool. Very friendly staff. Great location within walking distance of tavernas and shops. Breakfast is the usual cheese,meat, yoghurt, fruit, bread, boiled egg and cake.

I love this hotel, the team are amazing - super friendly, accommodating and helpful. The rooms are spacious, and immaculate. The garden is pristine, with a lovely clean pool. It's my home from home.

The best in Molivos. The pool is another advantage when you dont feel like going to sea. The garden is relaxing. The rooms are really clean. The owners are very nice people. You will definitely feel at home there.
