Genesteld langs de kust bij Charamida, aan de zonovergoten zuidelijke kusten van Lesbos, biedt het Lesvos Diving Center bezoekers een toegangspoort tot de spectaculaire onderwaterwereld van het eiland. De wateren rond Lesbos behoren tot de meest lonende in het noordoosten van de Egeïsche Zee, gevormd door vulkanische geologie en gevoed door voedingsrijke stromingen die een levendig zeeleven in stand houden. Of u nu een complete beginner bent of een ervaren duiker, dit centrum is geschikt voor alle niveaus en biedt begeleide duiken, materiaalverhuur en instructie in een veilige en gastvrije omgeving.
Onder het oppervlak ontdekken duikers een verborgen landschap van rotsachtige riffen, zeegrotten en zandbodems die wemelen van octopussen, murenen, tandbaarzen en kleurrijke rifvissen. De helderheid van het Egeïsche water zorgt vaak voor een opmerkelijke zichtbaarheid, waardoor duikers volop kunnen genieten van de dramatische onderwatertopografie die is gevormd door oude vulkanische activiteit die zo kenmerkend is voor Lesbos. Snorkelaars en beginnende duikers zullen de ondiepere gebieden even lonend vinden, met een toegankelijke kennismaking met de rijkdom van het mediterrane ecosysteem zonder dat geavanceerde training nodig is.
Voor bezoekers die hun tijd op Lesbos hebben besteed aan het verkennen van olijfboomgaarden, Byzantijnse kloosters en pittoreske dorpjes, biedt het Lesvos Diving Center een totaal andere dimensie van het eiland. Het herinnert ons eraan dat Lesbos zijn schoonheid op vele manieren onthult, en dat enkele van de meest buitengewone landschappen zich net onder de waterlijn bevinden. Een sessie hier is een onvergetelijke toevoeging aan elke Lesbos-reisroute, die avontuur combineert met de stille verwondering van het ontdekken van een wereld die de meeste toeristen nooit te zien krijgen.

Wat u kunt verwachten
U trekt uw uitrusting aan op een klein kustplatform en glijdt het water in, dat zo helder is dat u de contouren van vulkanisch gesteente tot op de zandige bodem kunt volgen. In de rotsspleten vinden octopussen, murenen en tandbaarsachtige vissen hun thuis — een rijker onderwaterleven dan de open Egeïsche Zee doorgaans biedt. Het personeel neemt ruim de tijd en is oplettend, of u nu voor het eerst duikt of al veel ervaring heeft.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Mei tot oktober voor comfortabele watertemperaturen; in juli en augustus is het water het warmst, maar dan is vroeg reserveren verstandig.
Hoe er te komen
Het centrum ligt in Charamida aan de zuidkust, op ongeveer 10 km van Mytilini — een rit van 15 tot 20 minuten naar het zuiden.

Great new diving center. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and excellent gear and suits! My boyfriend and I booked the Discover Scuba Diving package for €120 pp. We started with a bit of theory/instructions. Then we did a dive up to 6m from the beach. After a lunch break (you can get a cheap and tasty lunch at the beach club next door) we did a second dive; this time from a speedboat next to a small island. The second dive was up to 12m. We saw colorful fish, a lion fish, two squids and several orange starfish. Very fun experience! We felt completely safe the whole time, our instructor checked on us a lot during the dive. Definitely recommend!

I recently visited this diving center, and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. The instructors were incredibly friendly and made the entire process really enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to dive!

I was there some days ago and had an amazing experience!! Christos and Yannis are super friendly and experienced divers, they made me feel safe enough to decide to get the first certificate so I can now be a diver as well 😁🫧🤿❣️ I HIGHLY recommend this place 😊

Highly recommend diving with Christos and his team, they are fantastic. I have dove twice with Chistos and both times were very enjoyable. They make you feel safe and communicate well in English. Yannis was on my last trip, as well, which added to the fun. Equipment is top notch. Charamida Beach is a great place for your non-diving family and friends to hang out while you are diving. You can hang with them between dives which is unique Please look them up while in Lesvos. My dive trip was July 17, 2024.

Amazing diving center, the instructors and the staff are very polite-welcoming. All the diving spots are beautiful specially Kavourolimni. Considering the above and the brand new equipment it has to be the best diving center I have been in all my years as a diver. I recommend it 100%.
