Shell-tankstation Sigri Gelegen aan de westelijke rand van Lesbos, nabij het dorp Sigri, dient dit tankstation als een essentiële tankstop voor reizigers die een van de meest afgelegen en lonende hoeken van het eiland verkennen. Het uiterste westen van Lesbos ziet minder toeristen dan de meer bevolkte oostkust, waardoor een betrouwbare brandstofbron hier echt belangrijk is voor iedereen die eropuit trekt om het Versteende Woud, het Natuurhistorisch Museum van het Versteende Woud van Lesbos, of de ongerepte stranden langs deze ruige kustlijn te bezoeken.
Sigri zelf is een rustig vissersdorp aan het einde van een lange rit vanuit Mytilini of Molyvos, en de wegen die ernaartoe en ervandaan leiden, voeren door dramatische vulkanische landschappen met beperkte voorzieningen onderweg. Hier stoppen om te tanken betekent dat bezoekers hun reis met vertrouwen kunnen voortzetten, of ze nu terugkeren over het eiland of verder langs de kustwegen trekken. Voor roadtrippers die een meerdaagse tocht over Lesbos maken, is weten waar brandstof beschikbaar is aan de westkant van het eiland praktische kennis die je best op voorhand hebt.

Wat u kunt verwachten
Aan de ver afgelegen westkant van het eiland, waar voorzieningen schaars zijn, is dit tankstation het praktische ankerpunt van elke roadtrip naar Sigri. Reizigers die hier stoppen zijn doorgaans op weg naar het Versteend Woud of de rustige stranden in de buurt, en het tanken neemt de zorg weg voor de lange terugrit door vulkanisch landschap met nauwelijks andere opties.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Het nuttigst in de warmere maanden wanneer dagjestoeristen naar het westen van Lesbos trekken; buiten het hoogseizoen kunt u de openingstijden het beste vooraf controleren.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilini duurt de rit westwaarts via Kalloni naar Sigri ongeveer anderhalf à twee uur, door een grotendeels onbewoond landschap.

Perfect gas station.Courteous staff.This station not only provides gas but also has a variety of products to buy.Everything you may need for your vehicle such as lubricants,batteries,spark plugs and tyres.It was my pleasure to visit this place and I recommend this unreservedly.

It was August 15th and while all the gas stations were closed, this one was open, thank God, I had a nail stuck in my car tire and he helped me out, saving me from the possibility of leaving my car in a spot where there wouldn't even be a phone signal, thank you.

It says on google that station is open untill 21:00. We went there on 16:00, then 18:00 and 18:30 it was closed all the time... We drove back to the town and ask for information. Someone told us that owner of station went to the party and it is normal situation that he opens and closes it whenever he wants, what??? There were no other employees and we were told it's common situation that owner locks distributors, station and goes somewhere. Terrible. The nearest gas station was about 50-60km (uphill, downhill) from there. Also closed. There is no possibility to fill up the gas at any time you want....... time stopped there 30 years ago. Be careful with this station and your fuel level. I'd not recomend this place. There is EKO station in Kaloni where you can easily tank gas.
