De naam verwijst naar de zeevaartgeschiedenis van de Egeïsche Zee, en de bar omarmt dat karakter met een informele, door avontuur gekruide sfeer die zowel reizigers als eilandbewoners aantrekt. De bar bevindt zich in een van de kronkelende kasseiensteegjes van Molyvos, met het Byzantijnse kasteel dat erboven uittorent — een setting die elk koud drankje extra welverdiend doet aanvoelen. Het publiek is een vanzelfsprekende mix van eilandbewoners en reizigers die de hele dag door het dorp hebben gelopen, in een sfeer die levendig maar ontspannen blijft. Het is precies de plek waar u voor één drankje aanschuift en uiteindelijk blijft tot de stenen straten stil zijn geworden.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Van eind mei tot begin september is het hoogseizoen; in juli en augustus zijn de avonden het levendigst, maar ook het drukst.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilini volgt u de noordelijke kustweg richting Molyvos — de rit duurt ongeveer een uur. Eenmaal in het dorp vindt u de bar gemakkelijk te voet in de kasseiensteegjes.

Very chill bar with great atmosphere. Cute place to have a drink with a view to the extraordinary landscape of the island and with its mountains and sea. Ideal for sunset views! My friends and I were very pleased with the service. The waiters/resses, all young adults in their 20s were very eager to serve us, always with a smile and a friendly attitude that made us feel welcome. Will visit again! P.s. we were surprised to find a constant screening of the Pink Panther series playing inside the bar. Nice little nostalgic detail 🍿

I have been going to pirates bar for years and is always my regular drinks place whenever I am in Molyvos! The view, the atmosphere and the vibe is unmatched! Definitely a must for a sunset cocktail!

We had 4 drinks all of them were perfect. Freddo is well done. Asked for a gin fizz with extra lemon it was just like we wanted. Staff is very helpful there is nothing to say to the view. Prices are similar to different places around the island. Perhaps a little bit lower.

We went there for the sunset and I can truly say that it is the one of the best place for that. The view from the high point to the seaside and harbour is just insane. Additionally the drinks are really tasty and always served with some small snack. All the drinks we’re properly created that I approve as certified bartender 😂. Go there, you won’t regret

We were in Molyvos last week of October for three night and we could find the Pirates open for only for one night and it was very late in the night. The place takes you to the bars you remember from 90’s (which is a good thing). Music could have been better but except that all was great, inside is cozy and people seem to dance from time to time in the middle. Just had some beers from the blondie but definately be back to try the cocktails. If it was open we could have finished everynight in Pirates, well hopefully better luck next time in season.
