It was a great way to get to Petra and then the castle. The hostess was brilliant with our daughter. She absolutely loved it!

Wat u kunt verwachten
Het treintje rijdt door de smalle, geplaveide steegjes van Molyvos langs middeleeuwse stenen huizen en bloeiende tuinen, en geeft u een ontspannen eerste indruk van het dorp voordat u te voet op verkenning gaat. Op weg naar de kasteelrug geniet u van een weids uitzicht over de vissershaven en de Egeïsche Zee.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Mei tot september, wanneer de dienst rijdt; juni en begin juli zijn rustiger dan het drukke hoogseizoen in augustus op Lesbos.
Hoe er te komen
Molyvos ligt ongeveer 50 minuten rijden ten noorden van Mytilene; het treintje vertrekt doorgaans vanuit het lagere deel van het dorp, vlakbij de haven.

I bought a ticket for 10 euros for a day, unlimited and from Molyvos - ticket point to the harbor I was not allowed to go on the principle of "this is the company's policy". Where is this stated? Why wasn't I told? Maybe I was choosing to choose another mode of transport and not spend hours on vacation in stations instead of admiring the resort...because that was the purpose of the village train. I will inquire with the authorities how legal this aspect is.

Fun ride with a friendly and energetic hostess, theres also beautiful views and fun music to enjoy, for 9 euros you can hop on hop off. (TIP) If you already had the tour once i would recommend going to Petra or anaxos by bus instead (€2)

Decent enough way to see the local area. It runs pretty much to time and the relaxed pace enabled us to see the sights. It helped us to decide that Anaxos is essentially just a beach destination but Petra is worth a look.

I love the fact they have this train from petra to molyvos with a few stops in between. It was nice meeting Angela and I hope to be back here one day. Prices are more than reasonable. PS they play nice music too

Very nice sightseeing tour experience! You can use the train to visit the highlights of Petra & Molyvos. I used it every day. Also very nice store close to the harbour of Molyvos. One of the best of the village

We had lovely time on train but unfortunately day was marred by the train having a puncture and delaying our return journey to Petra. What a journey it was the driver must have been trying to make time up he drove so fast we were having to grip on as he raced around bends felt quite travel sick but no apology was made. Trip should have more information on places around.
