Λειτουργώντας με πιστοποιημένες βιολογικές πρακτικές, ο μύλος επεξεργάζεται τις ελιές χωρίς συνθετικές εισροές, σεβόμενος τόσο τη γη όσο και την ποιότητα του καρπού, παράγοντας εξαιρετικό παρθένο ελαιόλαδο που αντικατοπτρίζει τον ξεχωριστό χαρακτήρα του εδάφους και του κλίματος της περιοχής του Πλωμαρίου.
Όσοι κάνουν τη σύντομη διαδρομή ως το Άνω Χωριό θα βρουν εδώ την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν το ελαιόλαδο όχι ως ένα τυπικό προϊόν σούπερ μάρκετ, αλλά ως ένα χειροτεχνικό προϊόν βαθιά δεμένο με τον τόπο του. Ο μύλος προσφέρει μια ματιά στη διαδικασία έκθλιψης, από τη στιγμή που φτάνουν οι ελιές μετά τη συγκομιδή ώς το χρυσοπράσινο λάδι που αναδύεται — πυκνό, χορταστικό και ελαφρώς πικάντικο, όπως το φρέσκο, υψηλής ποιότητας λεσβιακό λάδι. Ανάλογα με την εποχή, οι επισκέπτες μπορεί να βρουν τον μύλο σε πλήρη λειτουργία κατά τους μήνες της φθινοπωρινής και χειμερινής συγκομιδής, όταν ο αέρας μυρίζει φρεσκοστυμμένες ελιές και ο ρυθμός της δουλειάς φαίνεται αναλλοίωτος από έναν αιώνα πριν.
Πέρα από την εκπαιδευτική και αισθητηριακή εμπειρία, η επίσκεψη στον Ειρήνη Πλωμαρίου αποτελεί μια πράξη άμεσης επαφής με την αγροτική ψυχή του νησιού. Ο μύλος λειτουργεί ως ενεργό γεωργικό εγχείρημα και όχι ως τουριστικό αξιοθέατο, και αυτό ακριβώς τον κάνει αξέχαστο. Μπορείτε να παρακολουθήσετε ολόκληρη τη διαδικασία από την άφιξη των ελιών έως το τελικό εξαιρετικό παρθένο ελαιόλαδο, να το δοκιμάσετε φρεσκοπιεσμένο και να αγοράσετε ένα μπουκάλι με γνωστή προέλευση.
Καλύτερη εποχή
Από τον Οκτώβριο έως τον Φεβρουάριο, κατά τη συγκομιδή, τα ελαιοτριβεία λειτουργούν σε πλήρη ρυθμό και η εμπειρία είναι πιο ζωντανή.
Πώς θα φτάσετε
Από τη Μυτιλήνη ακολουθείτε κατεύθυνση νότια προς τον Πλωμάρι και στη συνέχεια ανηφορίζετε προς το Άνω Χωριό — η διαδρομή διαρκεί περίπου 40 με 50 λεπτά σε ελικοειδείς δρόμους μέσα από τους ελαιώνες της νότιας Λέσβου.

Dear Myrta & family 💚 thank you so much for an amazing evening in your olive paradise…. It was so interesting to hear all the stories and to see and feel your passion for what you do. Also the food was so amazing and with regards to the olive oil I will start eat one spoon each day and think of all the pure and amazing benefits Mother Nature and your hard work is contained in the oil. My family and I loved every second and will return and recommend to friends and family. Thank you!!!

We arrived last night, not as part of a planned tour. The place is simply wonderful! Olive oil of the highest quality. And we are olive oil lovers. The young Irini, the daughter of the owners, welcomed us warmly. She gave us a professional private tour. She added us to the group that came for the tasting. Before we left, her lovely mother insisted that we take a homemade pastry with us. What a warm and wonderful family. And the best oil in the world!

We heard that there is an excellent olive oil here. We only came to buy olive oil, and the lovely Erini (the owner's daughter) welcomed us warmly and patiently explained the process of making the oil. We tasted bruschetta with olive oil and oregano. We bought excellent wine, honey, olive oil soap and even dried oregano. The place is very special, with a beautiful view and the people are warm and inviting. We will definitely go back there again and arrange dinner in front of the view.

A fantastic evening! We had a nice walk among the olive trees up in the mountains above Plomari, just before sunset, smelling the herbs, tasting the fantastic oil, and learning about the process of making organic olive oil The evening ended with the most delicious dinner we have had for twenty years on this island, homemade with love and Irini organic olive oil. Highly recomended!
