Niché près du paisible village d'Alyfada dans l'arrière-pays verdoyant de Lesbos, l'Ododiatreio Dimitri Paschalidi est un refuge pour ceux qui viennent sur l'île à pied. Le nom lui-même indique sa fonction : un ododiatreio est un gîte d'étape, un lieu construit autour de l'antique tradition d'hospitalité envers les voyageurs le long du chemin. Dans une région où les oliveraies ondulent sur les collines et où les sentiers pavés de pierre relient des villages qui n'ont guère changé depuis des siècles, ce type d'étape prend tout son sens pour quiconque explore Lesbos au-delà du littoral.
Dirigé par Dimitri Paschalidi, l'établissement offre aux randonneurs et aux promeneurs un lieu pour faire une pause, récupérer et nouer des liens avec quelqu'un qui connaît intimement ce paysage. Que vous veniez du réseau de sentiers qui sillonnent l'intérieur de l'île ou que vous soyez simplement de passage en voiture dans les collines, le caractère du lieu est façonné par l'attachement évident du propriétaire à la terre. Le savoir local, tel qu'aucune application ne saurait le reproduire — les meilleurs itinéraires, les points de vue cachés, les rythmes saisonniers de la campagne autour d'Alyfada —, a tendance à se concentrer dans des endroits comme celui-ci.
Pour les visiteurs qui souhaitent découvrir Lesbos autrement qu'une destination balnéaire, l'Ododiatreio Dimitri Paschalidi représente un autre type de découverte. Le village d'Alyfada se trouve dans une partie de l'île qui récompense le voyage lent, et ce gîte d'étape incarne exactement cet esprit. C'est le genre d'endroit sur lequel on tombe par hasard, où l'on s'attarde plus longtemps que prévu et dont on se souvient longtemps après avoir quitté l'île.

À quoi s'attendre
Vous entrez dans un véritable gîte de voyageur — un endroit sobre et sans hâte où les randonneurs ôtent leurs bottes et échangent des tuyaux sur les sentiers avec Dimitri, qui connaît intimement les oliveraies et les chemins pavés de l'arrière-pays autour d'Alyfada. Une courte pause pour s'hydrater se transforme souvent en une heure de conversation et de précieux conseils d'itinéraire qu'aucune application ne pourrait vous donner.
Quand y aller
Le printemps (avril–mai) et le début de l'automne (septembre–octobre) offrent les meilleures conditions pour randonner dans l'intérieur de Lesbos ; la chaleur estivale rend les sentiers de l'arrière-pays épuisants en milieu de journée.
Comment s'y rendre
Depuis Mytilène, dirigez-vous vers l'intérieur des terres et les collines à l'est, en direction d'Alyfada — le trajet est bref, généralement moins d'un quart d'heure, bien que les routes se rétrécissent en quittant la ville.

I went for a filling and it didn't do a good job, resulting in my tooth hurting every day and when I went to tell him it hurt, he sent me for a root canal without even seeing the problem, even though he was the one who made the mistake. Also, his lack of empathy is indescribable.

I sincerely regret any inconvenience you have suffered and would like to remind you of some facts: the blockage you are referring to was indeed borderline for endodontic treatment, a fact that I pointed out to you immediately after the completion of your treatment.<br>In these borderline (I emphasize) cases and due to your young age, it is common practice to try as much as possible to avoid denervation with ONLY the best interest of our patient in mind. <br>As soon as you informed me of your symptoms and knowing the incident, I immediately referred you to the endodontist specialist for your fastest and most correct treatment. It goes without saying that the correctness of what I am mentioning can be certified by the specialist or any other specialist you prefer.<br>In addition, I immediately sent you your X-ray showing the extent of the tooth damage before treatment in order to help the colleague.<br>Respecting medical confidentiality, I would not like to expand further into a public discussion and I would be truly happy to help you with whatever you need.<br>
