Incastonata lungo la costa meridionale di Lesbo vicino all'incantevole cittadina di Plomari, la Seven Seas Taverna offre un'esperienza culinaria genuina e senza pretese che definisce il meglio dell'ospitalità delle isole greche. Plomari stessa è celebrata come la capitale dell'ouzo in Grecia, dimora di generazioni di mastri distillatori, e la taverna s'inserisce comodamente in questa tradizione di convivialità e buon vivere. Il nome evoca l'ampio orizzonte dell'Egeo che si estende davanti alla città, e lo spirito del luogo riflette quella stessa apertura e abbondanza.

Il lungomare di Plomari è uno degli angoli più autenticamente greci di Lesbo, meno patinato delle località turistiche a nord, e un pasto qui sembra un incontro genuino con l'isola piuttosto che una sua messa in scena. Che si arrivi abbronzati da una spiaggia vicina o semplicemente guidati dall'appetito, la taverna offre i piaceri onesti che attirano i viaggiatori verso le isole greche in primo luogo.

Cosa aspettarsi
I tavoli si affacciano sul lungomare egeo e il profumo del pesce grigliato a carbone vi accoglie prima ancora che arrivino i mezedes. Un bicchiere di ouzo locale se ne porta facilmente dietro un secondo, e nessuno guarda l'orologio. La clientela è un piacevole mix di abitanti abituali del paese e visitatori scesi appositamente dal nord di Lesbo per un pranzo al mare come si deve.
Periodo migliore
Da maggio a ottobre è il periodo ideale; ad agosto i tavoli sul lungomare si occupano in fretta, ma la brezza marina serale rende tutto gradevole.
Come arrivare
Da Mitilene, si segue la strada principale verso sud in direzione di Plomari — il tragitto dura circa 35-45 minuti. Una volta in città, il lungomare si trova facilmente e vale la pena fare una breve passeggiata lungo il porto.

Welcoming staff, made to feel very welcome as tourists, so friendly and charming. The food was simple but absolutely DELICIOUS, every mouthful, truly tasty. We had fried Zucchini, stuffed mushrooms with a side of tzatziki to start. Then, grilled prawns (I think they are some of the most well seasoned prawns I’ve ever had), side of fries and a schnitzel with pepper sauce with a side of fried anchovies (must try)!!

Great location, very diverse menu to choose from. Service was great even though it was crowded . The grilled shrimps were fresh and tasty. The zucchini flowers were a generous portion and delicious. The fish is super fresh and the octopus in wine is tender and the sauce is wonderful. Highly recommend it!

We came to Seven Seas Taverna four times during our stay in Plomari — and for good reason! Despite its slightly touristic appearance, this is a true local family-run gem. The food is incredibly traditional, fresh, and full of flavour. You can really taste the quality and care in every dish. The moussaka is hands down the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried a lot over the years!). Add to that the lovely view over the harbour and a gentle sea breeze, and it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy authentic Greek cuisine. The family running the taverna is also very warm and welcoming, which made every visit feel like coming home. Highly recommended! Special thanks to Thomas for recommending this spot 👌🏻

Perfect place for seafoods. We have been there on 07.07.25 and it was amazing. We ordered octopus and shrimp as advertiser and it was delicious and we had calamari as main dish and it was amazing. Personal is very kind. It’s best place if you want to try seafoods in Lesbos.

I think it was one of the best services on island. Really nice and competent waiters. Food was really nice seasoned and served. Best octopus from grill (and gr8 that waiter told me how to eat it properly ;) ) Thank you for experience! People writing that octopus is hard DOESN'T LISTEN what waiter are saying to you. ;)

We had a wonderful dinner in Seven Seas. You must have a reservation in advance for the dinner time, since there is a high demand and limited seating. Everything we order was very delicious and served in big portions. There was a good balance between the pricing and portions. We had calamari, tzatziki, aubergine salad, fried zucchini flowers and very tasty mixed salad. The sea view was also beautiful. Service was a little slow, but other than that it was fine.
