A lovely beach bar with a small selection of food. We got some really good sandwiches and tried their coffee, smoothies and cocktails, which were all very good. The people are very sweet, the music not too loud and the beach is amazing !

Verscholen in het rustige dorpje Tarti in het noordoosten van Lesbos, is Kantina Tarti het soort pretentieloos wegrestaurant dat het onthaaste ritme van het eilandleven bepaalt. Eenvoudig, gastvrij en geworteld in de lokale gemeenschap, dient het als ontmoetingsplek voor dorpsbewoners en een welkome stop voor reizigers die door de met olijfbomen bedekte heuvels van deze minder bezochte hoek van het eiland trekken. Of u nu op een motorfiets door de kronkelende achterafwegen rijdt of te voet arriveert na het verkennen van het omliggende platteland, de kantina biedt de kans om even te pauzeren, de landelijke lucht in te ademen en opnieuw verbinding te maken met het tragere tempo dat Lesbos zo bijzonder maakt. Verwacht de eerlijke basis van een Grieks dorpscafé: sterke koffie, koude drankjes en misschien lichte snacks om u op de been te houden. De charme schuilt hier niet in uitgebreide menu's, maar in de sfeer — een schaduwrijk plekje om te zitten, de mogelijkheid om een paar woorden te wisselen met een lokale bewoner, en het bijzondere genoegen om op te frissen op een plek die werkelijk buiten de gebaande toeristische paden voelt. Een bezoek aan Kantina Tarti draait minder om wat u consumeert en meer om de ervaring van het stuiten op een authentiek stukje alledaags Lesbisch dorpsleven, ver weg van de drukte van Mytilene of de overvolle stranden in de zomer. Voor wie Lesbos verkent met nieuwsgierigheid en een open reisschema, is dit precies het soort tussenstop dat de moeite waard is.

Wat u kunt verwachten
Kantina Tarti is een eenvoudig dorpscafé te midden van de olijfgaarden in het noordoosten van Lesbos, waar de tijd langzamer lijkt te gaan. U treft er sterke Griekse koffie, koude dranken en de rustgevende sfeer van een gemeenschap die ver van het toeristisch geweld leeft.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Lente en vroeg najaar zijn het aangenaamst; juli en augustus kunnen erg warm zijn op het eiland.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilene rijdt u in ongeveer 25 tot 30 minuten naar het noordoosten richting het dorp Tarti. De kantina ligt in het dorp zelf en is langs de weg gemakkelijk te vinden.

Five stars without a doubt. Not too much sunbeds means not too much crowd and noise. So you can relax perfectly and even sleep deeply by the sound of the waves. Food is good enough to calming your hunger and the prices are fair. We've spent the noon 'til evening and it was one of the best. Last but not least, the crew was very friendly. It' s definitely a place I'd like to come back to.

My second time here on Lesvos, and yet, still, this is my favorite spot on the island. A small cafe tucked away at the far end of Tarti beach. Run by the kindest people. You’ll find tasty and affordable snacks and drinks accompanied with a laidback atmosphere. All surrounded by the clearest waters of the Aegean Sea. A dream.. and a place to come back to time and time again.

Excellent service from the friendly team. Lovely freshly made baguettes, toasties and freshly squeezed orange juice, ideal for breakfast. Opened around 10am. Free sun beds with good shades right at the water’s edge. They have a good list of cocktails at 7€. Enjoyed a potent Negroni or two. Good WiFi even down on the beach. Very laid back, good music at night and a relaxed vibe - just loved it. Well done guys!

what a gem this place is. with all the greek tavernas around, cantina tarti stands out big time. with a simple menu of hamburgers, sandwiches and hot-dogs, great cocktails, cool play lists and a great atmosphere, this is heaven on earth. thanks for the smiles, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere.
