Delicate foods, great atmosphere and very friendly owner! This is my second trip to Scala Eresous and Gorgona Restaurant is the best at the town. Mihallis is fantastic man! We had great time and enjoyed the food. Highly recommend!

Restaurant Gorgona bevindt zich in het charmante kustdorpje Skala Eresou, aan de zuidwestkust van Lesbos, waar het leven een rustiger tempo aanneemt en de Egeïsche Zee wijd uitstrekt tot aan de horizon. Vernoemd naar de zeemeermin uit de Griekse mythologie, vangt Gorgona de ziel van dit zorgeloze vissersdorp met een eerlijke, royale keuken van het soort dat Griekse tavernes over de hele wereld zo geliefd heeft gemaakt. Verwacht verse vis rechtstreeks van de lokale vissers, gegrild vlees en klassieke mezedes, geserveerd met een ontspannen en hartelijke gastvrijheid.
Skala Eresou staat bekend als een van de meest ontspannen en gastvrije bestemmingen van Lesbos en trekt bezoekers die komen voor het lange zandstrand, de vrije sfeer en de band met de antieke lyrische dichteres Sappho, geboren in het nabijgelegen Eresou. Gorgona past naadloos in deze omgeving en biedt een plek om samen te komen na een lange dag op het strand, of om rustig te genieten van een avondmaaltijd terwijl de zon achter de horizon verdwijnt. Of u nu een eenvoudig bord gegrilde vis met citroen en olijfolie bestelt of kiest voor een uitgebreidere tafel vol gedeelde gerechten, het restaurant serveert eerlijk en bevredigend eten dat reizigers telkens opnieuw doet terugkeren.

Wat u kunt verwachten
De tafels strekken zich uit richting het water en de geur van houtskool en zeelucht verwelkomt u voordat u gaat zitten. De kaart volgt de vissersboten — wat die ochtend binnengebracht is, is wat u moet bestellen. Het is het soort maaltijd dat aangenaam uitloopt terwijl het licht vervaagt boven de Egeïsche Zee.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Juni tot en met september, wanneer het strand volop in gebruik is; de avonden eind augustus zijn bijzonder sfeervol wanneer de zomerdrukte iets afneemt.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilini rijdt u westwaarts via Kalloni en vervolgens zuidwaarts richting Eressos; de rit duurt ongeveer 90 minuten en Skala Eresou ligt aan het einde van de weg, pal aan zee.

It's ok, it was part of our tracking in the group. So it was pre-payed. I probably would have choose one of the other restaurants.

An absolute gem! The food here is delicious, very local, and truly traditional—exactly what you’d hope for in a family-owned restaurant. The service is amazing: warm, attentive, and incredibly fast. They really look after you, taking the time to understand and accommodate any dietary requirements with genuine care and knowledge. The setting couldn’t be more perfect—you’re right on the beach, so you can enjoy a swim downstairs and then come up for an ouzo and some mouthwatering Greek meze. The whole experience feels authentic, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. A must-visit!

mediocre food , targeted to tourists mostly that do not know what a Greek tomato or Greek feta tastes like. The Greek salad was a disappointment . Fish was grilled good but not cleaned thoroughly from scales. The rest was just OK nothing special . Much better restaurants around in Skala that have consistently good food and do not bring down quality especially when the season is high and especially in a land like Eresos that has so many local products .

We came for 7 days and became regulars quite quickly. The service was impeccable- having a very messy baby with us, we were met with great understanding and support. The food is excellent and of high quality. Being Greek it’s easy to distinguish between fresh, good quality and average and this place is truly excellent. Would highly recommend

The atmosphere and the service are very good. The staff is friendly. They offered us one of the most romantic tables. The kavourosalata and the ouzo were nice🦀. Only the shrimps were not cleaned off their shells, which sometimes happens but we wished we would have been warned about it.
