Great place to stay if you want to tour the entire island. And a great host! Very friendly, she even brought us some tasty meals now and then. There's lots of possibilities to relax, with hamocks, a garden, an own terrace... The rooms have everything you need, including air conditioning.

Shine Studios Apartments biedt comfortabele zelfverzorgingsaccommodatie in Skala Kallonis, het charmante vissersdorp aan het hoofd van de Golf van Kalloni, aan de westkust van Lesbos. Het dorp is een van de meest geschikte uitvalsbases op het eiland: het combineert de rust van een authentiek waterfront met een vlotte toegang tot enkele van de meest geroemde natuurlandschappen van Lesbos. De nabijgelegen Golf van Kalloni geniet door heel Europa bekendheid als een uitzonderlijke bestemming voor vogelaars en trekt elk voorjaar ornithologen en natuurliefhebbers wanneer trekvogels een halt houden in deze beschutte inham op hun weg naar het noorden — waardoor de omgeving van Skala Kallonis een ware bedevaartplaats is voor liefhebbers van wilde natuur.
Studio-appartementen in dit deel van Lesbos zijn bij uitstek geschikt voor gasten die de vrijheid verkiezen om op eigen tempo te leven — of dat nu vroege ochtendwandelingen langs de zoutpannen zijn om flamingo's en steltlopers te spotten, middagzwemmen op de rustige, ondiepe stranden van de golf, of ontspannen avonden bij de haveltavernes met de lokale sardientjes waarvoor Kalloni in heel Griekenland terecht vermaard is. Het zelfstandige karakter maakt Shine Studios bijzonder aantrekkelijk voor vogelaars, fietsers en onafhankelijke reizigers die op zoek zijn naar een stille, ongehaaste retraite in plaats van een resortervaring.
Gelegen dicht bij het dorp Kerami en op gemakkelijke afstand van de stad Kalloni, kunnen gasten van Shine Studios de ruimere regio Centraal-Lesbos moeiteloos verkennen — met inbegrip van de antieke sites, Byzantijnse kerken en olijfgaarden die het binnenland van het eiland zo de moeite waard maken. Wat u kunt verwachten
De studio's geven u alle vrijheid in een echt vissershaventje — sta vroeg op en u kunt flamingo's zien foerageren op de zoutvlakten voordat de boten uitvaren. 's Avonds vertraagt het tempo aangenaam aan de kade, waar vers gegrilde sardines uit Kalloni worden geserveerd in de tavernes aan het water.
Beste tijd om te gaan
April en mei zijn de hoogtijdagen voor vogelaars dankzij de voorjaarstrek; voor zwemmen en rustige, warme dagen is juni tot september het beste, met juli en augustus als drukste periode.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilini volgt u de hoofdweg richting Kalloni — de rit duurt ongeveer 40 tot 45 minuten door olijfgaarden en het heuvelachtige binnenland van Lesbos. Skala Kallonis ligt direct aan de oever van de golf en is eenvoudig te vinden zodra u de kust bereikt.

I have only positive comments to make. Quiet location, very close to Skala Kalloni and the center of the island, which makes it very easy if you want to visit all the beaches/areas of Lesvos. Regarding the cleanliness, we were very pleased! Change of towels every two days, spotless sheets! Also every now and then we found a treat in the room! I highly recommend the rooms!!

Our stay was excellent! The hostess was always kind, smiling and willing to help us with anything we needed. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, with daily cleaning that made us feel very comfortable. We were particularly impressed by the treats – not only upon our arrival, but throughout our stay. Small, beautiful gestures that show the true meaning of hospitality. We highly recommend it and will definitely prefer it again in the future! *The only perhaps small observation is that on the last day there was only a short period of hot water 🚿 , it may have just happened! but this did not affect our overall very positive experience at all.

Very comfortable clean rooms on a beautiful property that’s lit up at night and in a fairly quiet neighbourhood. 10 minute walking distance to restaurants and souvenir shops near the ocean. The beach was just OK. Best part of Shine Studios, was our host Vasso. She smiled and helped us with whatever we needed. Would definitely return and recommend. Thank you to Vasso and her husband 💕
