Verscholen nabij het charmante kustdorp Petra aan de noordkust van Lesbos, biedt Boom des Levens bezoekers een gastvrije pauze langs een van de meest schilderachtige stukken van het eiland. Petra zelf is beroemd om zijn dramatische monoliet, bekroond door de Kerk van de Zoetkussende Maagd, en de omgeving trekt reizigers aan die houden van ontspannen ontdekkingen, lokaal karakter en de rustiger ritmes van het Egeïsche leven. Boom des Levens past naadloos in deze geest, als een ontmoetingsplek waar de warmte van echte Griekse gastvrijheid samenkomt met de schoonheid van de noordkust.
Of u nu even binnenwipt voor een verfrissing, streekproducten of gewoon een moment van rust, er is iets herstellends aan een plek waarvan de naam geworteldheid en overvloed oproept. Het noorden van Lesbos is vruchtbaar en weelderig vergeleken met andere delen van het eiland, gevormd door olijfgaarden, visserijtradities en een landschap dat gemeenschappen al millennia in stand houdt. Tree of Life ligt midden in het dorp Petra, vlakbij de imposante monolithische rots die de dorpsskyline beheerst en waarop een kerk troont. Het is een ideale tussenstop voor een koffie of om lokale producten te verkennen, terwijl het rustige ritme van de noordkust om u heen hangt. Het weelderige olijfgaardenlandschap rondom geeft de plek een authentiek en ongerept karakter.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Van eind april tot begin oktober is het weer het aangenaamst; mei en juni zijn ideaal voor een rustig bezoek vóór de zomerdrukte in Petra.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilini rijdt u noordwaarts via Kalloni naar Petra — de rit duurt ongeveer 50 tot 60 minuten. Petra is goed bewegwijzerd en Tree of Life bevindt zich binnen het dorp.

Beautiful store with nice ceramics and jewelry - but! The store owner was disrespectful and quite rude, making the visit pretty uncomfortable. I found something in the store and asked if he could do a lower price, as anybody would do in Greece - I’ve visited the country 10+ times and it has never been a problem anywhere. The owner, instead of just saying no or the price is not negotiable, said “If you want a lower price, go to Thailand” with a sour face - I was quite surprised and thought I had heard him wrong, so he repeated and added that I needed to show respect. I simply said that it was alright, no thanks, and left the store with a smile. Wouldn’t recommend - I hope he sells enough to be able to go to Thailand one day, it’s quite nice there.

Thanks for your observations and the misleading story. Asking with your way to give discount at something with 7 euro doesn't leave much room for discussion, especially after long hours of work. In Greece, we value hospitality and respect — both given and received. Negotiation is always welcome when it's done politely, but disrespect towards our country or our work doesn't leave much room for conversation. And Thailand is a wonderful country and we will go again gladly.

It's a wonderful shop. A place where you can find carefully selected, valuable pieces. Among the products are handmade jewelry by the famous Greek designer Alexandra Tsoukala. I bought earrings from her collection; they immediately attract attention! The shop owner, Mr. Fotis, is also a cultured and pleasant person to talk to. I highly recommend visiting if you ever find yourself in Petra.
