About this Beach
Agios Fokas Plajı, Midilli'nin güneydoğu kıyısında, adanın başkenti Midilli şehrinden yalnızca kısa bir sürüş mesafesinde yer almaktadır. Bu konum, şehirden uzaklaşmadan huzurlu bir kıyı köşesi arayan yerel halk için burayı gözde bir kaçış noktasına dönüştürmektedir. Plaj, bu volkanik kıyı şeridinin karakteristik özelliği olan küçük, yuvarlak çakıllar ve kaba koyu kumdan oluşmaktadır. Deniz burada oldukça berrak ve sakin olup her yaştan yüzücüye uygundur. Işığa bağlı olarak derin turkuaz ve safir tonlarına bürünen su, sığ girişiyle küçük çocuklu aileler için de elverişli bir ortam sunmaktadır.
Agios Fokas'ın atmosferi sade ve rahat bir karaktere sahiptir. Küçük balıkçı topluluğu, buradaki yerel ve özgün havayı beslemekte; adanın büyük tatil beldesi plajlarında pek rastlanmayan bir gündelik yaşam dokusu sunmaktadır. Olanaklar mütevazıdır — yakınlarda bu sularda avlanan taze balıkların servis edildiği bir ya da iki balık lokantası bulunmaktadır — ancak plajın kendisi büyük ölçüde doğal halini korumuş ve ticarileşmemiştir. Gölge azdır; yaz ortasında şemsiye getirmek önerilir. Alçak fundalık ve kayalık yamaçlardan oluşan çevre, konfor yerine doğayı tercih edenlere ham ve özgün bir manzara sunmaktadır.
Ziyaret için en uygun dönem ilkbaharın sonları ile sonbaharın başlarıdır; Ege sıcağının daha ılımlı olduğu, kalabalığın azaldığı ve suyun keyifli bir yüzüş için yeterince ısındığı bu dönemlerde plajın tadını en iyi şekilde çıkarabilirsiniz. Temmuz ve Ağustos aylarında poyraz rüzgarı bu kıyı boyunca zaman zaman kuvvetlenebilir; bu durum sıcaklığı katlanılır kılsa da denizi ara sıra dalgalı hale getirebilir. Agios Fokas Plajı parlak tatil kataloglarında yer bulmaz ve cazibesinin özü de tam olarak budur — yavaş akan günlük yaşamın, taze balığın ve doğuya doğru, yalnızca birkaç kilometre ötedeki Türkiye kıyılarına uzanan kesintisiz ufkun gerçek bir yansımasıdır.

Volkanik çakıllar ve koyu kaba kum, Agios Fokas'a tatil köyü plajlarından büsbütün farklı, ham bir his katıyor. Kıyıdaki bir-iki balık lokantası, birkaç metre ötede demirli teknelerden gelen taze balık sunuyor; açık havalarda ise Türkiye kıyıları boğazın karşısından net biçimde görünüyor ve bu sakin yere beklenmedik bir coğrafi derinlik kazandırıyor. Deniz sığ kesimlerde bile durgun ve berrak kalıyor, bu da yavaşça suya girmeyi kolaylaştırıyor.

Mayıs sonu–Haziran ve Eylül başı en uygun dönemdir — deniz yüzmek için yeterince ılık, plaj tenha ve Temmuz–Ağustos'ta dalgaları kabartabilen meltem rüzgarı henüz etkili değil.
Nasıl gidilir
Midilli'den güneye, doğu kıyısı boyunca Agios Fokas köyüne doğru ilerleyin; dolambaçlı ada yollarında yolculuk yaklaşık 45 dakika ila bir saat sürer.

Amazing little beach! Very-very clear water but it can be a little cold. Pebbly beach so water shoes are needed! Great for snorkeling especially near the bigger rocks - loads of fish. There are some sun beds - half are reserved for hotel quests but the rest are for public use. Can be quite expensive 30 euros for two, but you get great service, a cold bottle of water in ice tub, a drink (coffee or beer) and a towel for that money. It is very relaxing and quiet as well.

We have been to Agios Fokas beach many times over the years. This year they had renovated the hotel and parts of their beach environment, even though we didn't stay there. It's a calm and relaxing place. The water is crystal clear and the staff are friendly. The only thing to consider is that the beach consists of small or medium sized stones. But that is also the reason for the clear water. Definitely worth to spend a day in the sun here!

Great beach, worth a visit. The sunbeds to be hired to non-hotel guests are limited, so you should be lucky to find one. Still the atmosphere and food was great

Went to Agios Fokas yesterday. There is a fabulous new bar there that is part of the hotel. Sunbeds are very comfortable and are free as long as you eat/drink something. The service was excellent and the food was nice and not crazy prices. The beach is a mixture of dark sand/pebbles. We love snorkeling and this was a great spot for it as the water was crystal clear and swimming around the rocks we saw hundreds of fish!

One of the best beach in Kos island. The sea here is quite and comfortable for swim. No wind and beautiful view.The plaice is free. But you are welcome to order some tasty salats or pizza from the guys. They have bar and kitchen with is serve for enjoyment after relaxing swimming. Here you can find shower and toilet. Everything is works and cared. Do not miss this place, I’m sure you will like it.

This is a gorgeous beach 'club' 20 minutes bus ride from Kos town. Quiet good swimming. Excellent service from the bar. Comfy beds and good umbrellas. Oh and friendly cats!

What a fantastic place! It's beautiful, cozy, comfortable and by the warm welcome and the hospitality you can really tell it's a family business where "feeling at home" is important. I would love to visit again whenever I am in KOS
