About this Beach
Η Σκάλα Μυστεγνών είναι ένα ήσυχο ψαροχώρι στη βόρεια ακτή με αμμοχάλικη παραλία, μικρό λιμανάκι και εξαιρετικές ψαροταβέρνες που σερβίρουν το πρωινό ψάρεμα με απλότητα και φρεσκάδα. Η ατμόσφαιρα είναι καθαρά ντόπια — δεν πρόκειται για τουριστική παραλία, αλλά για μια ζωντανή προκυμαία όπου τα ψαράδικα σκάφη ξεπερνούν σε αριθμό τους λουόμενους. Το κολύμπι είναι ευχάριστο χωρίς να εντυπωσιάζει, όμως οι ψαροταβέρνες είναι αυθεντικές στο είδος τους: απλές, φρέσκες και οικονομικές. Η Σκάλα Μυστεγνών απευθύνεται σε επισκέπτες που κρίνουν μια παραλία από την ποιότητα του μεσημεριανού τους και όχι από τη μαλακότητα της άμμου.

Τι να περιμένετε
Το λιμανάκι δίνει τον τόνο — ψαράδικες βάρκες δένουν στην προβλήτα, γάτες παραμονεύουν κοντά στα δίχτυα και η μυρωδιά της θάλασσας απλώνεται παντού. Στις ταβέρνες της παραλίας θα βρείτε κυρίως ντόπιους που ήρθαν για το φρέσκο ψάρι, όχι για τη θέα. Η παραλία λειτουργεί ως αναπαυτικό σκηνικό, όχι ως ο κεντρικός προορισμός.
Καλύτερη εποχή
Από τον Μάιο ως τον Οκτώβριο για άνετο μπάνιο· επισκεφθείτε σε εργάσιμη μέρα τον Ιούνιο ή τον Σεπτέμβριο για την πιο ήρεμη και αυθεντική εκδοχή του χωριού.
Πώς θα φτάσετε
Από τη Μυτιλήνη, ακολουθείτε τον παράκτιο δρόμο της ανατολικής πλευράς προς βορρά· η διαδρομή διαρκεί περίπου 25–30 λεπτά και καταλήγει κατευθείαν στο λιμανάκι.

It's an absolutely pristine beach, over 500 meters long. The only downside is a small problem that can be solved with pebble (stone) shoes. This isn't a problem for swimmers. The water is crystal clear. Parking is free along the shore. The sunbeds belong to a business there, but you can also spread out your towel and sit there for free. Someone from the business comes to the sunbeds and you order something for yourself (water, beer, ice cream, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc.). It's a wonderful environment. There are also tree shades. I recommend not going too late in the morning (for shade and sunbeds).

This is a fantastic place to swim and relax. The beach is made of small pebbles and there are several trees over the beach that offer plenty of shade. If you bring your own ombrella you may struggle a bit to set it up although we always managed in the end. The beach is equipped with wc, showers and changing cabins nicely located at regular distance... Obviously free! The beach has received the blue flag for the quality of the water so bring your diving equipment! Please beware that as you enter the sea there are some large stones so some may want to use sea shoes. Keep in mind that the water gets deep quite quickly. There is a mini market nearby and 3-4 tavernas that serve great Greek food so you'll have definitely a great time!

Since this year it also holds a BLUE FLAG, 500 meters of beach!!! Wonderful place, very close to Mytilene, with a few shops for food and a mini-market for the essentials, as well as several rooms to rent. It has showers and changing rooms, as well as the essentials that require the blue flag. The Municipality should take more care, a. with a direct road, {the existing road has some dangerous bends due to visibility}, b. with more care in cleanliness, c. with stricter observance of the rules for pets, which now pollute the beach, d. with awareness of professionals and residents for the observance of the above rules... It is a wonderful place for recreation - swimming and relaxation
