Simply honest and delicious food, even on a day outside the weekend and during the off-peak season. Really fresh and high-quality. The fact that I don't find it particularly cozy doesn't matter. Highly recommended.
The best restaurant in the area, hands-down. They make you feel right at home. Try their traditional Greek dishes, the Stifado and Giouvetsi are amazing.

Χωμένο στο χωριό της Ερεσού, μια από τις πιο ιστορικές γωνιές της Λέσβου και θρυλικής γενέτειρας της αρχαίας ποιήτριας Σαπφώς, το Μέζεν προσφέρει ένα φιλόξενο καταφύγιο στους ταξιδιώτες που εξερευνούν τις πιο ήσυχες νοτιοδυτικές ακτές του νησιού. Το εστιατόριο αντλεί από τη βαθιά παράδοση των μεζέδων της ελληνικής κουζίνας, όπου η χαρά ενός γεύματος δεν βρίσκεται σε ένα μόνο πιάτο, αλλά στη χαλαρή και ανέμελη μοιρασιά πολλών — μικρές μερίδες με τοπικές ελιές, τυριά, ψητά λαχανικά και θαλασσινά που αντικατοπτρίζουν τους ρυθμούς της αιγαιοπελαγίτικης γαστρονομίας. Είναι το είδος του μέρους όπου ένα μεσημεριανό γεύμα μπορεί εύκολα να απλωθεί έως το απόγευμα, συνοδευόμενο από τοπικό κρασί ή ούζο και την άνετη συντροφιά ενός χωριού που εδώ και καιρό έχει γίνει καταφύγιο για ελεύθερα πνεύματα και περίεργους περιπλανητές.
Η Ερεσός βρίσκεται λίγο μακριά από τη μακριά αμμώδη παραλία της Σκάλας Ερεσού, και το Μέζεν αποτελεί ένα φυσικό σημείο στάσης πριν ή μετά από μια μέρα στην παραλία, ή κατά τη διάρκεια μιας βόλτας στα βυζαντινά ερείπια και το λαογραφικό μουσείο του χωριού. Η ατμόσφαιρα τείνει προς το αβίαστο και το αυθεντικό, διαμορφωμένη από τον χαρακτήρα μιας κοινότητας που εκτιμά εξίσου το καλό φαγητό και την καλή παρέα. Στο Μέζεν τα πιάτα φτάνουν σταδιακά — ελιές, ψητά λαχανικά, τοπικά τυριά, θαλασσινά — και το γεύμα αποκτά τον ρυθμό του χωριού, όχι του ρολογιού. Ο Ερεσός έχει τη δική του βαρύτητα, με τα πλακόστρωτα σοκάκια του και μια κοινότητα που πάντα τραβούσε περίεργους ταξιδιώτες, κι αυτή η αίσθηση περνά και στο τραπέζι.
Καλύτερη εποχή
Από τα τέλη της άνοιξης έως τις αρχές του φθινοπώρου· ο Αύγουστος φέρνει περισσότερο κόσμο, αλλά το χωριό κρατά την ήρεμη ατμόσφαιρά του.
Πώς θα φτάσετε
Από τη Μυτιλήνη, η διαδρομή για τον Ερεσό διαρκεί περίπου μία ώρα με αυτοκίνητο, διασχίζοντας το δυτικό εσωτερικό του νησιού· το εστιατόριο βρίσκεται στο κέντρο του χωριού.

Good meals and service I had shrimp in ouzo wife had stiffaldo. Served nice and hot was very tasty.

Food is lovely and very traditional, service is excellent especially the one with big belly and the one with the bigger belly, and of course the one who takes the money. It's a great atmosphere and very friendly, thanks for a great night again. We will be back.

We ate twice here in one week because the food was so good the first time round. Pictures attached are of the lamb ribs, Stifado (beef and onion stew), Giovetsi (beef tomato and pasta stew) and shrimps. Everything was really tasty and well done. The table bread was a bit stale and not the best. Service was good on our first visit but quite frantic on the second visit because it was so busy. For a really good meal here this is a great choice.

From the very first bite, this place won our hearts. We enjoyed perfectly cooked sea bass with fresh vegetables, a crisp and flavorful Greek salad, and beautifully roasted eggplants that melted in the mouth. Paired with a glass of local wine and a splash of ouzo 🌝, it turned into an unforgettable feast. The staff were not only professional but genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. A spot I’d recommend 100% to anyone wanting an authentic taste of the region.

In our opinion, easily the best restaurant in the village. The menu was a bit more inventive than the typical Greek restaurant and the food was excellent. We always sat outside on the terrace to enjoy the view and watch the world go by. Service was friendly and we had a complimentary mini Magnum type of ice cream for dessert. By our third visit they knew our drinks choices and that my husband would decline the ice cream! It’s right next to the church and the bell strikes every hour which always made us jump! It also gave us an excellent view of a wedding which was a bonus.

Very nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Enjoy time with your family and friends. When you leave here you make new friends and family! Delicious food. Tried so much, you can go back again and again just to try the many different things!
