Arroccata sul bordo del Mar Egeo, dove il villaggio di Tarti incontra il mare, la Tarti Beach Taverna è uno di quei luoghi senza fretta che definiscono il ritmo di un'estate sulle isole greche. Come i migliori locali sulla costa di Lesbo, occupa quel perfetto equilibrio tra semplicità e soddisfazione — un posto dove può prendere una sedia a due passi dall'acqua, ordinare una caraffa di vino locale e lasciare che il pomeriggio si dissolva completamente. Il menu si basa sul mare e sulla stagione: pesce appena pescato, polpo alla griglia e quel tipo di mezedes che premiano il mangiar lento e la buona compagnia.
Ciò che rende una sosta qui così preziosa va oltre il cibo. La costa nord-orientale di Lesbo è più tranquilla e meno trafficata delle località turistiche che si trovano altrove nell'Egeo, e Tarti stessa conserva un carattere genuinamente locale. Mangiare alla taverna la immerge in quel mondo anziché tenerla ai margini — circondata da barche da pesca, dall'odore dell'aria salmastra e dalla vista verso la costa turca che le ricordano quanto si è spinta lontano nel Mediterraneo orientale. È il tipo di pasto che resta nella memoria molto dopo che il piatto è stato sparecchiato.

Cosa aspettarsi
I tavoli sono disposti proprio sul bordo dell'acqua, a pochi passi dalle barche da pesca ormeggiate lì accanto. La cucina segue il ritmo del mare e della stagione — pesce fresco alla griglia, polpo e mezedes da condividere con calma — mentre lo sguardo si spinge fino alle coste turche all'orizzonte.
Periodo migliore
La tarda primavera e l'inizio dell'autunno sono i periodi migliori; luglio e agosto sono più affollati, quindi è consigliabile arrivare presto per un tavolo sul mare.
Come arrivare
Da Mitilene, si percorre la strada costiera verso nord-est in direzione di Tarti; il tragitto dura circa 20-25 minuti e porta direttamente al bordo dell'acqua del villaggio.

Fresh octopus and squid. Salads taste like salads and not cardboard. Also the portions are proper portions, not just a few bites to nibble on. It's right next to the sea, which allows you to grab a bite after going for a swim. I will definitely be coming back.

If you want to feel the true spirit of the Aegean, this is the place to be! The natural charm of the venue, the attentive service, and the exquisite Greek cuisine made for an unforgettable day. Very nice beach with a beautiful sea and delicious food. 5 people, ate a lot of food, drank ouzos, beers etc and paid only 54 euros. Waooow! Will go there again absolutely

This tavern has great prices and amazing views. Beautiful beach is just 2 meters away from your table. For a beer, big bottle of water and two sets of food (meat + fish) we paid only 30€ which seems like nothing compared to the amount of fantastic food we received.

Loved this Greek taverna! We came to Tarti Beach four different times and every time ate at this hidden gem. The service was always a bit slow but that is because they were always crazy busy, every table was packed full of people. Everything we ordered was fantastic, minus the fries. The fries were always a bit disappointing but we didn't go there for them so it didn't matter. I loved the cheese pie, cooked greens, beans and fried zucchini flowers ad well as the Greek salad. Great prices and fantastic food!

Classical beach taverna with reasonable prices and good food options. Christal clear cold water. We liked the natural beach, very calm. Make sure to go early since you may not find available sun-beds.
