Calma Bar is een gastvrije espressobar verscholen in het rustige westelijke dorp Sigri, een van de meest onthaaste hoekjes van Lesbos. Sigri ligt aan het uiteinde van het eiland, ver van de drukkere noord- en zuidkust, en trekt bezoekers die komen voor de natuurlijke haven, het imposante Ottomaanse kasteel en het bijzondere Geopark van het Versteende Woud in de buurt. Na een ochtend wandelen tussen de oeroude gefossiliseerde boomstammen of een middagduik in de kalme baai van Sigri, biedt Calma Bar precies het soort pauze dat het dorpsritme uitnodigt.
De bar serveert koffie op espressobasis naast het bredere caféaanbod dat typerend is voor een Griekse eilandplek — koude freddo espresso's en cappuccino's in de zomer, Griekse koffie, versgeperste sappen en lichte verfrissingen. Alleen al de naam zet de toon: dit is een plek om te vertragen, te blijven hangen bij een kopje en het kalme ritme van het leven in Sigri te observeren. Voor reizigers die naar de westelijke punt van Lesbos trekken, is Calma Bar een betrouwbare en vriendelijke stop die de stille charme vangt die deze hoek van het eiland zo kenmerkend maakt.

Wat u kunt verwachten
Calma Bar maakt zijn naam volledig waar — u bestelt een freddo espresso, neemt plaats aan een tafeltje en merkt dat de haast uit u wegvloeit. De haven is vlakbij, het Ottomaanse kasteel tekent zich af op de achtergrond en het dorp pulseert in een tempo dat uitnodigt tot blijven. Één kop koffie groeit moeiteloos uit tot een uur ongestoord genieten.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Van eind mei tot begin oktober is het ideaal; ook in juli en augustus blijft Sigri merkbaar rustiger dan de drukke badplaatsen elders op Lesbos.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilini rijdt u westwaarts via Kalloni naar Sigri, een rit van ongeveer anderhalf à twee uur. Het café bevindt zich in het dorpscentrum en is gemakkelijk te vinden zodra u er aankomt.

Such a gem of a place. We went there after a visit to the museum and not knowing it was there. The staff, very friendly. They have an ever cuter dog. And the menu is simple, the food is simple and they make some great milkshakes!

Very friendly owner and polite staff. The atmosphere, music, lightning, food- makes a perfect combination for enjoyable evening. Pizzas sooo delicious! Cocktails…. After the first you’ll definitely order another one. Recommend if you are with the loved one or with a company. Enjoy!❤️

The owner treated us like he was doing us a favor for getting us sitted. Half of our order was really late (more than an hour) and when we complained about it he not only scolded us for complaining to the waiter but didn’t even said he was sorry. The whole situation ruined our night.

To say this bar is anything less than perfect would be a lie. Bambinos and his wife Mina run a well organised, friendly, comfortable and professional bar that serves the best omlettes, pizzas, Greek Salad and cocktails in Lesvos. The name describes the atmosphere very well. Don't expect fast food, but rather slow food cooked to perfection! My young family and I have always felt welcomed here and part of the community. I cannot recommend this place enough. I always look forward to my next visit! Thank you Calma.

Great pizza, tasty cocktails! A small oasis in the village of Sigri. Excellent service, happy people, clean and friendly! Don't hesitate to visit it for your evening dose of holiday feeling!
