Historische ouzodistilleerderij in Plagia die rondleidingen biedt door het hele productieproces, van kruiden tot botteling. Proeverijen van verschillende ouzostijlen met deskundig personeel tegen een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding (€2 per persoon). Wat u kunt verwachten
De scherpe anijsgeur verwelkomt u al voordat u de productieruimte bereikt, waar koperen distilleerkolven centraal staan opgesteld. Een gids legt elk stadium rustig uit — van de rauwe botanicaliën en fermentatie tot distillatie en botteling — en bij de aansluitende proeverij kunt u verschillende stijlen ouzo naast elkaar vergelijken. Het bezoek voelt oprecht leerzaam aan, niet als een routineuze toeristische rondleiding.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Lente en vroeg najaar zijn het aangenaamst om te bezoeken; in de zomer is een bezoek mogelijk maar de productieruimte kan warm zijn als de kolven in werking zijn.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilene rijdt u zuidwaarts richting Plomari en volgt u de borden naar Plagia zodra u de buurt nadert; de rit duurt ongeveer 45 minuten tot een uur via de kronkelende zuidelijke weg.

I cannot recommend enough visiting the distillery. The full tour is 30-40 minutes long, providing the visitor with key succinct information and the chance to experience what ouzo plomari is all about. You can also experience Greek hospitality given how helpful the guides are and the treats visitors are given. Really well done!
