This place has the best meatballs I ever tasted. The prices are fair, unlike the tourist traps in many other spots. The music is great for rock fans. And the hidden beach is one of the island's finest, with no crowds, plenty of shade, a shower and a changing room.

Gelegen aan de uiterste westelijke rand van Lesbos, maakt The End Beach Bar zijn suggestieve naam waar — dit is zo ongeveer waar de weg eindigt op het eiland, en hier aankomen voelt als het bereiken van een beloning na de lange, bochtige rit door vulkanische heuvels en olijfgaarden naar het dorp Sigri. Met de open Egeïsche Zee die zich ononderbroken uitstrekt naar de horizon en de ruige kustlijn van een van de meest afgelegen hoeken van Griekenland als achtergrond, maakt de omgeving alleen al deze bar een bezoek waard. Sigri zelf is een stilletjes boeiende plek, een klein vissersdorp dat in zijn eigen onthaaste ritme beweegt, en The End vangt die geest perfect. Bezoekers kunnen zich nestelen met een koud drankje — lokale bieren, Griekse sterke dranken of een verfrissende cocktail — en de middag simpelweg laten oplossen in het geluid van de golven en de zilte bries. De ligging van de bar vlak bij het strand maakt het een natuurlijk verzamelpunt voor zwemmers, zeilers en roadtrippers die de bedevaart hebben gemaakt naar deze minder bezochte hoek van Lesbos. Terwijl de zon in de vroege avond naar het water zakt, levert de op het westen gerichte ligging enkele van de meest spectaculaire zonsondergangen van het eiland op, waarbij de lucht wordt geschilderd in kleuren die bijna theatraal aanvoelen tegen de donkere silhouetten van de heuvels van het versteende woud in de buurt. Of u nu stopt voor een enkel koud Mythos-biertje na een middaglang verkennen van het nabijgelegen Sigri Natuurhistorisch Museum van het Versteende Woud van Lesbos, of tot in de late uurtjes blijft om te zien hoe de sterren boven de Egeïsche Zee verschijnen, The End Beach Bar biedt iets dat steeds zeldzamer wordt in de Middellandse Zee: een oprecht onthaaste, pretentieloze plek aan de rand van de wereld waar de tijd vertraagt en het uitzicht voor zichzelf spreekt.

Wat u kunt verwachten
Neem plaats in een door de zon gebleekte stoel met een koud drankje en laat de wijde Egeïsche Zee haar werk doen — dit is een plek waar u aankomt, uw sandalen uitdoet en uiteindelijk veel langer blijft dan gepland. De westwaartse ligging maakt de bar tot een eersteklas uitzichtpunt voor enkele van de meest indrukwekkende zonsondergangen van Lesbos, een trekpleister voor zwemmers en reizigers die de lange rit naar Sigri precies voor dit moment hebben gemaakt.
Beste tijd om te gaan
Juni tot september voor zwemmen en zonsondergangen; een bezoek op een doordeweekse dag in juli of augustus voorkomt dat het kleine parkeerterrein vol staat.
Hoe er te komen
Vanuit Mytilini rijdt u westwaarts via de hoofdweg dwars door het eiland richting Sigri — reken op ongeveer 1,5 tot 2 uur, afhankelijk van tussenstops. De bar bevindt zich aan het kustgedeelte van het dorp, op loopafstand van het strand.

I’m not one to make quick judgments or leave harsh reviews for places, but this one unfortunately warrants it. I'm genuinely puzzled as to how this place managed to receive an average rating of 4.7 stars from around fifty reviews. This spot appears to be a gathering place for campers from the surrounding area, and they seem content with it, likely because it’s the only option nearby offering food, some shade, and a toilet—though the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. There are several areas that need significant improvement: 1, All the chairs were covered in dust. We had to clean them ourselves. 2, The inside of this small café was filthy. They had sticky fly traps hanging from the lamps, which seemed effective given the number of dead flies stuck to them. However, the traps were old and clearly hadn’t been changed in a while. 3, There was no proper staff. We interacted with three different people, assuming they were responsible, only to find out they were other customers trying to help out. 4, We ordered meatballs, salad, fries, and sardines (as these were the only items on the menu). A limited menu is fine, but the presentation was dreadful and nothing like the photos in previous reviews. 5, When it came time to pay, the owner or responsible person was nowhere to be found. They never showed up, possibly due to illness or needing to step out briefly. Another customer ended up assisting with the payment, but she didn’t have a price list. She only knew the price of the meatballs (8 Euros), which consisted of just eight small pieces.

We were positively surprised by the quality of the light lunch and coffee we had here! Amazingly tasty! The place is a cool alternative place under the trees by the splendid beach. Very relaxing atmosphere, great music and service. Highly recommended!

In fact there are old and dirty chairs and i don’t like this kind of things.But this place has a different spirit,like a magical place.The beach and sea is awesome.We enjoyed our whole day on these dirty chairs.Get a lemonade (the lady makes it very well) or cold beer and let’s chill:))
