The gyros was delicious, but what truly stole the show was the sauce! Perfect texture, amazing flavor, and just the right balance – it complemented the meat without overpowering it. Fast service and a warm, friendly atmosphere.
My favourite place in Petra hands down. We have tried their moussakka, gyros, pork and chicken souvlaki, grilled veggies.. all of them were delicious and the atmosphere of the place is the cherry on top of the cake!

Κρυμμένο στην καρδιά της Πέτρας, το Καλντερίμι παίρνει το όνομά του από τα αρχαία πλακόστρωτα μονοπάτια που κάποτε ένωναν τα χωριά της Λέσβου, και αυτό το πνεύμα της αβίαστης παράδοσης διατρέχει τα πάντα εδώ. Η Πέτρα είναι ένας από τους πιο αγαπημένους προορισμούς του νησιού, με τον επιβλητικό ηφαιστειογενή βράχο να υψώνεται δραματικά από το κέντρο του χωριού και να στέφεται από την εκκλησία της Παναγίας Γλυκοφιλούσας. Σε αυτό το σκηνικό, το Καλντερίμι λειτουργεί ως φυσικό σημείο συνάντησης για επισκέπτες και ντόπιους, προσφέροντας φαγητό, ποτό και την αβίαστη φιλοξενία για την οποία είναι γνωστό το Αιγαίο.
Μια στάση στο Καλντερίμι είναι εξίσου θέμα ατμόσφαιρας όσο και αυτού που φτάνει στο τραπέζι. Το όνομα ανακαλεί την υφή της παλιάς Λέσβου — χειροποίητα πλακόστρωτα σοκάκια, ασβεστωμένοι τοίχοι, ο αργός ρυθμός της χωριάτικης ζωής — και ένα μέρος που φέρει αυτή την ταυτότητα κλίνει προς τον τοπικό χαρακτήρα παρά τον αποφεύγει. Περιμένετε τις ειλικρινείς χαρές ενός καλοδιατηρημένου ελληνικού καταστήματος: τοπικό ούζο και τσίπουρο, ίσως μεζέδες από τη γύρω περιοχή, και καφέ που απολαμβάνεται με όποιον ρυθμό απαιτεί το απόγευμα.
Για τους επισκέπτες που εξερευνούν την περιοχή της Πέτρας αφού ανεβούν στην εκκλησία στην κορυφή ή περιπλανηθούν στο επιβλητικό αρχοντικό της οθωμανικής εποχής, το Βαρελτζίδαινα, εδώ κοντά, το Καλντερίμι προσφέρει έναν ευπρόσδεκτο τόπο ανάπαυσης. Αντιπροσωπεύει ό,τι πιο ελκυστικό έχει το ταξίδι στη Λέσβο — την αίσθηση ότι το νησί δεν ξεπούλησε την ψυχή του για λογαριασμό της εξυπηρέτησης, και ότι οι καλύτερες στιγμές εδώ είναι οι αβίαστες.

Θα διαπιστώσετε ότι ο χρόνος κυλά αργά εδώ — ένα ποτήρι τσίπουρο, μεζεδάκια και η πέτρινη ατμόσφαιρα της Πέτρας σάς κρατούν στη θέση σας πολύ περισσότερο από ό,τι σχεδιάζατε. Το Καλντερίμι βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της κίνησης του χωριού, ανάμεσα σε ντόπιους και επισκέπτες που σταματούν να ξεκουραστούν.
Καλύτερη εποχή
Από τον Απρίλιο έως τον Οκτώβριο το μέρος είναι στο καλύτερό του· τα καλοκαιρινά βράδια είναι πιο ζωντανά, ενώ η άνοιξη και το φθινόπωρο προσφέρουν πιο ήρεμη ατμόσφαιρα.
Πώς θα φτάσετε
Η Πέτρα απέχει περίπου μία ώρα οδήγησης βόρεια από τη Μυτιλήνη μέσω της κεντρικής οδού προς τη βόρεια ακτή· το Καλντερίμι βρίσκεται στο κέντρο του χωριού και είναι εύκολο να το βρείτε με τα πόδια αφού παρκάρετε.

Please do not leave Petra without coming to this restaurant!!!! The food is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the fillet mignon, cooked to perfection, so tender and juicy. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. We ate out at several restaurants but this was by far our favourite place so much so we ate here 3 times!! An absolute must you will not be disappointed.

Everything was perfect. We had pita bread, tzatziki, grilled vegetable and chicken gyros plate. Portions are generous and the food is delicious. They also have a lovely garden area where you can dine or you can take a gyros in pita bread to go. Thank you!

We read good opinions and were totally disappointed after visiting. Sarcastic waiter’s answers and comments, cold meat in hot giros, lamb souvlaki with blood, small portions with high prices and a waitress doing make up in a toilet. And diarrhoea at least in a 20 minutes after eating and leaving the place. Don’t recommend

Best gyros ever. We tried pork and chicken, both were great. Also hot fresh pita bread makes the experience more interesting. It makes you want to come back again only for this gyros from Turkey. Thank you. I highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious food and wine. The chargrilled chicken was so tasty, perfect with a Greek salad and tzatziki. Also came with fries and warm herby pitta bread. €41 euros including a beer and half litre of house wine. Highly recommend, the menu is extensive including traditional Greek dishes. The setting is simply beautiful, in the shadow of the famous church in Petra - a gem of a place will definitely come back

Another superb restaurant. Lovely setting on the cobbled streets in amongst trees. I had a delightful fillet mignon and my partner had the lovely mousakka. A wonderful place. Had the amazing Pork souvlaki 2 nights ago.

We came here as advised by a local; drive from Mythiline. We have tried many gyros and this is one of top theee. Amazing with Nissiopi local beer. A must try and eat!

The food was excellent, pita was fresh ans delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. We got a pita wrap kalameri & the meat mix grill- and it was fantastic. The server was not at all friendly and very curt with us.... there was another server with other tables who was kind but ours was not. They gave us a little cake as a surprise and it was light, sweet and delicious. Lots of cats hanging around here tho (more than I've seen elsewhere) and so I had some bites on my legs from insects. I'd likely not sit on the cushions next time.....
