Το Λιμεναρχείο Μυτιλήνης βρίσκεται στην καρδιά της ναυτικής ζωής του νησιού, επιβλέποντας το πολυσύχναστο λιμάνι που συνδέει τη Λέσβο με τον ευρύτερο αιγαιακό κόσμο εδώ και αιώνες. Για τον επισκέπτη, το Λιμεναρχείο δεν είναι τόσο ένας προορισμός αυτός καθεαυτός, όσο ένα σημείο αναφοράς για να αντιληφθεί κανείς τον χαρακτήρα της παραλιακής Μυτιλήνης. Όσοι φτάνουν με πλοίο ή σχεδιάζουν να ταξιδέψουν σε κοντινά νησιά όπως η Χίος ή στα παράλια της Τουρκίας, μπορούν να σταματήσουν εδώ για τις απαραίτητες διαδικασίες και πληροφορίες δρομολογίων που διέπουν τις ακτοπλοϊκές και διεθνείς διελεύσεις. Η γύρω λιμενική προκυμαία, με τα καφέ της, τις ψαροταβέρνες και την αδιάκοπη κίνηση σκαφών που έρχονται και φεύγουν, καθιστά αυτή τη γωνιά της παραλίας μια από τις πιο ζωντανές της πόλης. Γύρω από το Λιμεναρχείο επικρατεί η ατμόσφαιρα ενός ζωντανού, εργαζόμενου λιμανιού — ψαράδες που ξεφορτώνουν τα δίχτυά τους, επιβάτες που ελέγχουν δρομολόγια, η μυρωδιά αλμύρας και καφέ να ανακατεύονται στον αέρα της προκυμαίας. Η καθημερινή ρουτίνα της ναυτικής ζωής εδώ είναι αναλλοίωτη εδώ και δεκαετίες.
Καλύτερη εποχή
Η παραλιακή ζωή είναι πιο ζωηρή από την άνοιξη έως τις αρχές Οκτωβρίου, όταν τα ακτοπλοϊκά δρομολόγια είναι πιο συχνά και οι ψαροταβέρνες της προκυμαίας γεμάτες.
Πώς θα φτάσετε
Το Λιμεναρχείο βρίσκεται κατευθείαν στην προκυμαία της Μυτιλήνης, σε σύντομη απόσταση με τα πόδια από το κεντρικό λιμάνι — αναζητήστε το επίσημο κτίριο με θέα στο νερό, κοντά στα αγκυροβολημένα αλιευτικά.

If you arrived by car, you first park the vehicle in the area indicated by the officer. Then all passengers go through passport control in the same order. After passport control, pedestrian passengers enter Mytilene. For passengers arriving by car, the driver is directed to an officer with their green insurance, passport, and vehicle registration. After the officer gives approval, they go to the vehicle with an approval card, the customs officer checks the vehicle, and if there are no problems, entry is granted.

Excellent hospitality, the police officers who arrested me were polite and good at their job. We played 80s disco music during the deposition, which helped me a lot to overcome the stress of the case. The process ended with summary procedures, while my only complaint is the lack of patience to wash off the fingerprint ink before the kids chased me away, resulting in me having to do it at home with soap, which was quite time-consuming. I highly recommend it as the best place to get arrested even though I don't have much experience. My greetings to the kids, unfortunately they won't see me again because I'm now within the law. Good freedom.

The ferries from Ayvalik Turkey arrive at this port. At least 3 ferries arrive at the same time and suddenly a long line appears for customs control. Once you enter the building it is well maintained with ACs and seats. There are at least 3 counters for passport control, which speeds up the clearance process.
