Il nome — che evoca il grande uccello marino che scivola senza sforzo sull'acqua aperta — allude allo spirito marinaro di questo tratto della costa settentrionale di Lesbo, dove il mare è raramente fuori dalla vista e il ritmo della vita segue le maree. I visitatori di questa parte dell'isola spesso si trovano grati per il tipo di locale che Albatros rappresenta: un luogo radicato nella comunità locale piuttosto che nel turismo, dove l'accoglienza è genuina e senza fretta. Il mare è qui una presenza costante — visibile e udibile da ogni angolo, incorniciato dalle colline basse e dagli uliveti della costa di Alyfada. Albatros è frequentato principalmente dai residenti del quartiere più che dai turisti di passaggio, il che gli conferisce un'atmosfera rilassata e un'accoglienza genuinamente calorosa. È il tipo di sosta che rimane nella memoria non per qualche grande spettacolo, ma per la semplice sensazione di trovarsi in un posto vero.
Periodo migliore
Dalla fine della primavera all'inizio dell'autunno è il periodo ideale; la posizione costiera garantisce una costante brezza egea che rende piacevoli anche luglio e agosto.
Come arrivare
Albatros si trova a poco più di un chilometro dal centro di Mitilene, lungo la costa nei pressi di Alyfada — un breve tragitto in auto o una passeggiata dal porto.

I recently bought a beach chair that didn't fit us, we didn't use it and after a phone call, we agreed to return it and buy something else! (It should be noted that the chair was out of the windshield when I bought it) The owner flatly refused my return, claiming that I had used it and that I had damaged it! Finally, after my father's earnest request, they changed it and we got something else! I have been a customer for years, my father and my friends. They have taken a lot of money from us and our friends! However, their behavior was not professional at all and I am very sorry! This is not how they treat long-term customers! The worst service. They sold cheap stuff that they sold for serious equipment. Most of it was broken and when we asked for a refund to exchange the product they refused and told us "these things happen". The worst!
