Balouchanas è un ristorante di pesce situato a Perama, un tranquillo villaggio costiero arroccato lungo la riva meridionale del Golfo di Kalloni. Il golfo stesso è uno dei fondali di pesca più produttivi dell'Egeo, rinomato soprattutto per le sue celebrate sardine di Kalloni, un prodotto così pregiato da vantare una denominazione di origine protetta. Una taverna in questo contesto trae la propria identità direttamente dal mare, offrendo quel tipo di pesce semplicemente preparato e incredibilmente fresco che definisce il meglio della cucina costiera greca. Gli ospiti possono aspettarsi un menu basato sul pescato del giorno, con pesce alla griglia, calamari fritti e mezze di pesce locale, insieme alle immancabili sardine di Kalloni, da gustare al meglio leggermente salate o grigliate sulla carbonella secondo lo stile tradizionale. Il ritmo lento di Perama, unito alle acque calme del golfo visibili dal villaggio, fa sì che un pasto qui sembri una vera pausa dalla strada anziché una semplice sosta. Cosa aspettarsi
Da Balouchanas i tavoli si affacciano sulle acque quiete del Golfo di Kalloni, dal quale arriva ogni mattina il pescato che finisce in cucina. Il menu segue la stagione: pesce fresco alla griglia o fritto semplicemente, calamari e le celebrate sardine di Kalloni, leggermente salate o grigliate alla brace secondo l'uso locale. Il ritmo lento di Perama trasforma il pasto in una vera sosta in riva al mare.
Periodo migliore
Da fine aprile a settembre è il periodo ideale; a luglio e agosto fa caldo ma la brezza del golfo rende il clima piacevole.
Come arrivare
Perama dista circa 15 minuti d'auto da Mitilene, seguendo la strada costiera verso ovest lungo il Golfo di Kalloni. È una tappa naturale lungo il percorso verso Kalloni o verso l'entroterra dell'isola.

It's cozy here, with a beautiful view of the Bay of Gera. The food is good, but sometimes the food wasn't really warm (this could also be because it was very busy due to a public holiday, hence the 4 stars). If you're in the area, you'll definitely eat there at least once, even if you drive there specifically to eat there (which we did this time, but I wouldn't do it again).

Everything we ate was below average. Calamari was burnt and pricier at the bill than their menu. Even Greek Salad was tasteless, not recommended!

Very friendly family run fish taverna that offers delicious food! Everything we had was excellent, the highlights were the fava with sweet caramelized onion, the very tender fried sepia and the tiganitelia (a bit similar to zucchini balls but also containing zucchini flowers). Also beautiful location and very appealing interior design with lots of driftwood and plants. Very fair prices! Definitely recommended if you happen to visit Perama.

This is an inexpensive tavern in the village of Perama in Lesvos. The food is mostly from the sea, but there are some interesting meat dishes like meatballs. The cuisine is local with fresh ingredients. The location is fantastic, right by the sea On the minus side: today, there was a group of tourists, place was packed and service was extremely slow. Clearly, it's understaffed. We had to wait for our lunch for 45 minutes. Maybe it was a coincidence and it happened only once, but it costs the place one star..

Nice little place at the harbour with full panoramic view of the bay. Good prices and more than enough to choose from. They offer lots of fish but also meat. The baclava was especially tasteful.
