This hotel is steps from an amazing beach. The family running the hotel are present and willing to help in any way they can. Breakfasts were delicious and served for us on the patio where we could enjoy the incredible view. I highly recommend this hotel and the wonderfully kind people running it.

About

Hotel Kyma sits in the laid-back coastal village of Skala Eresou, on the southwestern shore of Lesvos, offering guests a comfortable base from which to explore one of the island's most beloved seaside destinations. The name Kyma — meaning "wave" in Greek — speaks to the hotel's close relationship with the sea, and guests can expect the kind of unhurried hospitality that defines this corner of the Aegean.

Skala Eresou is renowned for its long, uncrowded sandy beach, its welcoming atmosphere, and its deep cultural significance as the birthplace of the ancient lyric poet Sappho. Staying at Hotel Kyma puts visitors within easy reach of the waterfront promenade, lined with tavernas and cafes where the pace of life slows to a gentle rhythm. Whether you are drawn here for the swimming, the sunsets over the open sea, or simply the chance to unwind in an authentic Greek village, Hotel Kyma provides a warm and convenient home for your stay on Lesvos.

Before you go

What to expect

Hotel Kyma sits steps from the long sandy shore, in a village with a distinctly bohemian, unhurried character. Mornings pass with coffee at a waterfront table while fishing boats bob nearby; evenings bring the whole village out to the promenade for slow dinners as the sun sinks into the open Aegean.

Best time to visit

May through October for swimming; July and August see more visitors but the beach stays uncrowded by Greek island standards.

How to get there

Skala Eresou is roughly 90 km by road from Mytilene — about a 1.5-hour drive southwest across the island. A rental car is the most practical option, as direct bus connections are limited.

Wonderful accomodation experience! A small seaside hotel, very practical for a family holiday with a small kid. We stayed 7 days at Hotel Kyma and loved it! A pretty and clean family hotel at the lovely village of Skala Eressos. Thank you once again for everything dear Panagiotis!

Although a family run business, the owners are always there trying their best to serve the clients. Rooms a bit tight in terms of space if there is a kid but are cleaned on a daily basis. For reservations, booking is recommended a year ahead as there are regular guests coming every year. Parking not an issue. Amenities close by on foot.

Having traveled extensively around the world, I can say very few places show this much care and attention to their customers. Our stay was fantastic. This explains why I keep returning.

We stayed at Kyma Hotel in May 2019, an excellent decision. Starting with the Place: Skala It was a beautiful place that almost no one from my country (Brazil) knows, rich in history. places to eat spend a wonderful day and night, worth every moment, the people of the village are of unique, passionate attention. The Kyma hoyel of a family who, as I mentioned from the Vila and of an unusual attention, can speak with Panagiotis or his family who works at the hotel, details like at breakfast makes you feel part of the island and the beach, congratulations to Skala Eressou's family and people. I will always come back. Thanks for the stay it was a special time for me and my family.

A cozy hotel/rooms to let in the heart of eressos by the seaside (you can literally spit from your balcony in the water). The receptionist is extremely helpful and polite. The rooms are small and cozy and with all day to day amenities (fridge, ac, tv, WiFi, coffee machine), newly renovated whilst keeping the graphic Greek village ambiance. Highly recommend this place.
