Kaloni Village Holiday Resort
Visitors say
Recently spent 10 fabulous days here, lovely people and lovely place, Nico was excellent to deal with but so were the other staff members too. You definitely need a car to make the most of your trip.
A large complex with many pools. Well kept gardens. Extremely friendly staff. We were upgraded to a villa which was 3 bedrooms, 2 of which were ensuit. Very clean, cleaners came each day to clean and make up the beds.
About
Nestled near the tranquil shores of Skala Kalloni, on the edge of the sheltered Gulf of Kalloni, Kaloni Village Holiday Resort offers visitors a comfortable base from which to explore one of Lesvos's most rewarding corners. The gulf itself is renowned across Europe as a birdwatching paradise, drawing flamingos, herons, and dozens of migratory species that congregate in its shallow, nutrient-rich waters, making the surrounding area a natural magnet for nature lovers and those seeking a slower pace of island life.
Staying here places guests within easy reach of the fishing village of Skala Kalloni, famous throughout Greece for its celebrated local sardines, best enjoyed grilled fresh at one of the waterfront tavernas. The resort's holiday village format typically provides self-contained accommodation suited to families and couples alike, offering the freedom to come and go at leisure while enjoying the peaceful rhythms of this part of Lesvos. The wider Kalloni region is also dotted with traditional villages, Byzantine monasteries, and the gentle rolling landscapes of the island's fertile interior.
For visitors who want more than a beach holiday, Kaloni Village Holiday Resort serves as an ideal retreat point between excursions. Whether you spend your days scanning the wetlands for rare birds with binoculars, wandering the nearby salt pans, or simply watching fishing boats return to the quay at dusk, the resort offers a welcoming and unhurried atmosphere that captures the authentic spirit of Lesvos away from the busier tourist circuits.
Before you go
What to expect
The resort sits on the edge of the shallow Gulf of Kalloni, where flamingos wade at dawn and fishing boats leave the quay before sunrise. Days move slowly here — binoculars over the wetlands in the morning, grilled sardines at a harbourfront table in the evening. The self-contained layout makes it a natural base for families and couples who want to range out to Byzantine monasteries and traditional villages without the bustle of a larger resort.
Best time to visit
Late April through June is prime for birdwatching when migratory species peak; July–August are warm and busier, while September brings quieter days with comfortable temperatures.
How to get there
From Mytilene, take the main road northwest toward Kalloni through the island's fertile interior; the drive typically takes around 40–50 minutes before descending to Skala Kalloni on the gulf.

The location was perfect for us. The resort has a lot of pools, a restaurant and a private beach. The sea was very warm. We enjoyed our week there. Since the resort is not near a city, you need to rent a car so you can get to all the places you want to visit.

Excellent bungalow complex for relaxation and tranquility for couples or families. Expensive materials used for the construction and all deluxe bungalows boast supreme quality and amenities. Those entitled DYPA social tourism vouchers are welcomed to avail of the facilities in convenient time period not in conflict with other foreigners who travel down here to enjoy the famous bird watching sightseeing.

No words to describe what we lived, what we felt, how we were treated. Everybody working there is a great professional, extremely kind and loyal to their duties and exceeded every expectation. The apartments new and very very clean, a swimming pool accompanies a batch of apartments and has at least 4-5 of them. Breakfast wonderful with lots of Greek treats and European standards. Will be visiting this "Village" again and again!

We have just returned after a fantastic week at Kalloni Village Apartments. With absolutely no faults, the apartments were clean, the pools (all 6 of them) were fantastic. The staff are so welcoming and we fell in love with our hosts Nico and Georgia. Fantastic with our kids. The food is excellent and very nicely prepared. And to top it off they have a private beach that we pretty much had to ourselves, although the sea is not the clearest it was clean and warm :) I would definitely recommend hiring a car as it’s a good 1hr walk to the nearest village, but once there it is beautiful. Thank you so much for being so welcoming and creating such a lovely atmosphere for our holiday. We miss you already :)

The rooms were clean and cleaned every day, featuring 1 bedroom and 1 living room with a kitchen. There are 2 air conditioners, a refrigerator, a kettle, a coffee machine, a washing machine, an iron, a hairdryer, plates, glasses, cups, and cutlery – everything you might need. You also have your own private veranda. The staff is helpful and attentive. It's a pleasant place among the trees where you could stay for a month to relax, and there’s a pool in front of you. The breakfast was varied and satisfying.

I stayed for a full week in this beautiful hotel. First of all, the breakfast is an open buffet and it is very good, especially the pastries. Dinner was very nice. The hotel met everything, both in terms of price and taste. The rooms and the pool were cleaned every day. I had a wonderful holiday with my family, accompanied by the magnificent view and the sounds of birds. The employees are friendly and very helpful. What I could say was missing was very little, but the internet connection was weak. Maybe it could be a small gym. If I come again next year, I will stay at this hotel again. I hope to see you again. Greetings from Turkey
