We love Krinelos. Simple, clean rooms, lovely people and few minutes walk to the beach while far enough from the «  promenade » and its noise

About

Pension Krinelos is a welcoming guesthouse situated in Skala Eresou, the charming seaside village on the western coast of Lesvos known for its long sandy beach and relaxed, bohemian atmosphere. As a small pension offering rooms for travelers, it provides an intimate and personal alternative to larger hotel accommodations, making it well suited for visitors who prefer a quieter, more home-like base from which to explore the area.

Guests staying at Pension Krinelos are within easy reach of Skala Eresou's seafront promenade, lined with tavernas, cafes, and bars where the pace of life slows to match the gentle Aegean rhythm. The village draws visitors who come to unwind on one of Lesvos's finest beaches, explore the birthplace of the ancient poet Sappho, and enjoy the surrounding landscape of olive groves and volcanic hills. A pension like Krinelos serves as a comfortable resting point for those who want to immerse themselves in the authentic, unhurried character that has made Skala Eresou a beloved destination for return visitors year after year.

Before you go

What to expect

Staying at Pension Krinelos puts you steps from Skala Eresou's long beach and the easy rhythm of its promenade — mornings with coffee at a seafront café, afternoons on the sand, evenings lingering over ouzo as the sun drops into the Aegean. It's the kind of small guesthouse where the owner knows your name by day two and the informal, unhurried feel of the village soaks in without effort.

Best time to visit

Late May through September is ideal for the beach; July and August bring the most visitors and the highest heat.

How to get there

From Mytilene, drive west across the island through olive groves and the interior highlands — the journey takes roughly an hour and a half before the road descends to the coast at Skala Eresou.

For 2 years we are staying there, first a vacation between friends, and second year with family and my 4 years old daughter. It is a fantastic place where we feel at home. 2mn by walk from everything and those 2mn makes it very quiet. + Super carefull owners. I love it.

We booked our room a month earlier for 2 people, when we arrived we were informed that they forgot to call me and tell me that our supposed room had mold and it would be cleaned and we would get inside the next day and they told us we would stay on the roof which there was an emergency room and that it would be ready in about an hour or two so we left our luggage's and went to the beach until it was ready. There after 2 hours of waiting which shouldn't have happend it should had been ready for us earlier they called and informed me that we would need to stay for the full 2 days that we had booked because they weren't able to clean it in time for us to get it, and to clean up for their mistake they told us they would lower the price which again was overpriced for the condition of that room. The room they gave us was filthy and full of dust, the fridge that they had in the room was moldy and you could smell it from far away, there was an old crt TV and an old bed from the 70s-80s, a cheap plastic table, a closet that was wearing down with beach umbrellas inside and one window with not a good air ventilation from the dust and placement behind another wall. The walls were dirty also was the roof and you could hear it making crack sounds from the wind. On the other hand, the bathroom was outside of our room, and it was much more horrible. Little to no space for one person to take a shower because of the toilet and the sink being in the way, and the faucet couldn't drain all of the water, so it went outside of the door on to the roof and you would get your feet or your flip-flops dirty again from all of the sand and dust that's being sitting on there, another thing was the toilet couldn't flush well and have all of the waste would be left inside making it stink and the toilet sit was wearing down from all of the years that water has been hitting it. Another big problem were the bugs who would get inside from the lower end of the door because there was about a finger length gap, that it may had a protection but there were certain spots that it had been destroyed from the water of the bathroom or from the rain making an entry point for the bugs to come in. To all of that expense, my girlfriend got gastroenteritis, possibly been from the poor and dirty contitions of the room in which we stayed. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and I will not stay there again on my next visit to Skala Eresos.

I had a wonderful stay at Pension Krinelos in Skala Eresou. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. Located in the center of Skala Eresou, it's within walking distance to everything, yet still quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

We had a terrible experience at the Hotel, the room was dirty and smelled like mould, upon arriving we asked for a broom to clean the room ourselves. The air conditioning was not working properly, making extreme loud noises while working, so we couldn’t use it while sleeping. The shower curtain was also dirty, black/greenish due to mould!. The owners seem to simply not care. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We had to cancel our stay the next morning, we were lucky we paid ahead only for one night!

When I arrived at the hotel it took the owner a long time before he attended to me. Then he took me to the room which was a horrible place with no window and in the dark basement. No apology given. No information that my room will look like this. They put people in every space their house has just to earn money. No concern for the client. If you don’t want your holiday to be a nightmare avoid at all costs. Better to sleep on the beach than in Krinelos.

Such a nice place to stay! Very nice atmosphere and cute owners. They offered me fruits and veggies from their garden and told me old stories! I really enjoyed, plus is so close to everything while it's also quite when needed!
