About

Nestled in the tranquil surroundings near Skala Kalloni, one of Lesvos's most beloved birdwatching destinations on the island's central lagoon, Organic Yoga Greece offers a restorative escape for visitors seeking mindful relaxation amid the natural beauty of the Aegean. The combination of yoga practice with the island's organic ethos reflects a broader movement on Lesvos toward wellness tourism that honours the landscape rather than competing with it. The area's extraordinary stillness — broken only by birdsong from the nearby wetlands — makes it an unusually fitting setting for contemplative practice.

Visitors can expect a wellness experience rooted in the rhythms of the Greek countryside, where the unhurried pace of island life naturally complements yoga and holistic health offerings. The organic dimension suggests a commitment to clean, local produce and sustainable living, values that resonate deeply with the island's agricultural traditions of olive cultivation and artisan food production. Whether you come for a single session or build your stay around regular practice, the studio provides a grounding counterpoint to a day spent exploring Lesvos's lagoons, villages, and coastlines.

For travellers who find that the best journeys balance outward exploration with inward reflection, Organic Yoga Greece is a worthwhile stop. Skala Kalloni itself is well-positioned as a base for the central part of the island, and weaving a yoga session into a morning before heading out to the salt flats or the medieval hilltop villages of the interior gives the day a satisfying shape. It is the kind of place that reminds you that Lesvos has long been an island where philosophy and the good life go hand in hand.

Before you go

What to expect

The studio sits at the edge of Skala Kalloni where the central lagoon's wetlands create a hush broken only by wading birds and the faint scent of salt drifting in from the nearby flats. Sessions feel shaped by the island's own unhurried pace — postures and breathwork set against a backdrop of reeds and open sky rather than a city studio. It's a genuinely grounding stop, especially after a morning spent driving the winding roads of the interior.

Best time to visit

Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September–October) offer mild temperatures and a calmer atmosphere; July and August are hot and busier across the island.

How to get there

From Mytilene, take the main road west toward Kalloni; Skala Kalloni is roughly a 40–45 minute drive and sits right on the southern shore of the lagoon. The village is compact and easy to navigate once you arrive.

I am so pleased that I found Organic Yoga Greece and cannot wait to return, nothing was too much trouble for Mirjam and she looks after you very well and is so welcoming. The Pilates on the beach surrounded by flowers in early May was just amazing, and then being able to run straight into the sea and swim after class. In the evening we had Yin yoga class in the garden surrounded by the sound of the birds which makes it so special. Each evening we ate at a different restaurant meaning you get to try all of the local dishes. The massage was amazing. I have never had such a relaxing holiday. Mirjam is an excellent teacher and pushes you to improve without it being a bootcamp. I found it so useful and want to continue building on what I learnt back home. If you are thinking about booking, don’t procrastinate anymore you will have a fabulous time!

This was such a great experience! Mirjam is a very professional, knowledgeable and wonderful teacher. And also great company. The retreat was exactly what I was hoping for, a perfect mix of physical exercise, Greek food and culture and loads of free time. I can recommend this retreat to anyone who wants to take care of body and mind, while having a great holiday at the same time. Apart from that, the island of Lesbos is really beautiful and authentic.

Dear Maaike, Thank you for this beautiful review. Hope to meet you again sometime because you were also a positive minded participant. Friends for life. If possible.

I just spent a week doing Pilates, Yin yoga and hiking with Mirjam. She deserves every star available. She is a fantastic teacher, very knowledgeable and alert to individual needs and fitness levels. She pushes you but not in a boot camp way. She is very encouraging and focused. She was also wonderful company on our hikes together. Oh, and she gives brilliant massages. The location is utterly beautiful and contributes to the overall sense of wellness. Mirjam also knows everything about the village - where to get the best fish, what to get at the bakery etc. I would go back again in a heartbeat and recommend 100%. I am a new woman.Treat yourself.

Wonderful yoga and Pilates in a beautiful location. A great combination of relaxation and activities with the beach, yin yoga, delicious food, and a welcoming hotel. The morning Pilates, hiking, and excursions were well worth it. Highly recommended!👍

This was one of the best retreats I’ve been to. Mirjam is very welcoming, caring and understanding – really sees and ask what you want and how you feel in the moment, which I personally think It’s important to do, as every individual is different and want different things in different times or so. The Yoga and Pilates classes is very good, she sees you as an individual as well and make sure you get the best out of every class, for you. She helps you to explain and show what to do. Also, I had the pleasure to join ballet classes, and I opened my eyes again for ballet, which Mirjam helped me to do. The hotels location is good, I had a beautiful view over the ocean and the beautiful garden full of flowers and greens. The only thing was that my air conditioner broke 2 times, but that is very normal and understandable, the staff helped me fix it fast so it wasn’t a problem at all. The pool and hotel in it self is nice, although there is other guests at the resort of course, and it can be families with kids etc, but I didn’t bother too much honestly, it was ok. The morning yoga is amazing at the beach – the only thing that wasn’t so good it was the sticky things from the nature that is like little needles, but It doesn’t effect you that much when you’re on your yogamat, and you van use the block afterwards and get them off.. The exploring on the island that Mirjam showed us, was amazing, incredible hot springs with the natural hotsprings – incredible, and cheep for a SPA, so beautiful and relaxing after a day hiking in the mountains exploring non touristic hidden villages. The food is alright at the hotel, not so much variation but you have almost everything you need and it’s something for everyone I think. The food in the restaurants is amazing, the fresh fish and veggies- Love it! The beaches are very nice and not far from the hotel. The ending of the day was so nice, in the garden – yin yoga is so nice! – also one time we had it under the stars, it was so nice and emotional. I really enjoyed it. My last night, we had dinner at Mirjams and Ians place- and it was so lovely, fresh salad and delicious dinner, with fruit salad at the end, Time flew by so fast and I wish I could have stayed longer….. Until next time, thank you so much for this time, Love Louise

Intensive classes on the beach in the morning. Yin yoga in the evening. Wonderful. The food too. Lovely location near a fishing village. Quiet area with a good mix of locals and tourists. If it's not too hot, you can walk and cycle among the birdwatchers. We saw white flamingos. The only downside might be that it's a bit remote. It depends on what you're looking for. You can rent a scooter or bicycle.

Owner Response

Enjoy every day, we want everyone to have that.
