Not sure what service they provide but they said they were closed when I entered during opening hours and that they don't provide bike hire or organize trips.

Extremely accommodating, flexible and helpful staff. They really go out of their way to offer personalised and friendly service. And even in the Age of Google, in a small place like Skala Eresos, even the most independent traveller might need some help in the old fashioned, human way - through direct contact.
