I came almost every day while staying near Eresos. very delicious pastries and incredibly friendly ladies. the man was a bit grumpy, fortunately he was there only once. but the two ladies I met there were exceptional.
A fantastic bakery with many local products. Their millfeu bureks are the best. The staff is very friendly. The shop is always full. It’s a small shop so that it feels sometimes a bit crowded.
About
Taktikos Bakery is a welcoming pastry shop nestled in Skala Eresou, the laid-back seaside village on the southwestern coast of Lesvos known for its long pebble beach and relaxed atmosphere. As a local bakery, it serves as one of those essential morning stops that anchors daily life in a Greek village — the kind of place where the smell of fresh bread and warm pastries drifts out onto the street before the rest of the world has woken up.
Visitors can expect the full range of Greek bakery staples: tiropita and spanakopita (cheese and spinach pies with flaky phyllo), koulouri sesame rings, sweet bougatsa filled with warm custard cream, and freshly baked loaves. For travelers spending time in Skala Eresou — whether drawn by the beach, the birdwatching in the nearby wetlands, or the village's unique cultural character — Taktikos offers a simple, satisfying way to start the day or pick up provisions for a picnic.
Stopping at a neighborhood bakery like this is one of the genuine pleasures of traveling through the Greek islands. It connects visitors to the rhythm of local life in a way that larger establishments rarely do, and the quality of homemade pastries in small Aegean villages consistently punches above its weight.
Before you go
What to expect
Arrive before the beach crowd stirs and you catch Skala Eresou at its most local — warm bougatsa fresh from the oven, flaky tiropita and spanakopita cooling on the counter, sesame koulouri stacked beside the till. Regulars stop in for their daily bread without breaking stride, and visitors naturally fall into the same easy rhythm before heading down to the pebble shore. It is the kind of counter-and-cash-only place that takes five minutes and stays with you all day.
Best time to visit
May through October when Skala Eresou is in season; May-June and September offer a calmer village than the peak July-August weeks.
How to get there
Skala Eresou sits on the southwestern coast of Lesvos, about 54 km from Mytilene as the crow flies — allow at least an hour and a half by car on the winding cross-island roads. The village is well signposted once you reach the Eresou area.

Erasos is a small but wonderfully delicious bakery right by the sea. We bought 6-7 different kinds of pastries and ate them with coffee at the cafe on the beach. The prices aren't too high, the staff are friendly, and they have a wide variety. They have both sweet and savory items. Perfect for breakfast.
