Άγιος Ερμογένης
Agios Ermogenis
About this Beach
Agios Ermogenis is widely considered one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in the Aegean. A dense pine forest extends right down to the waterline, providing natural shade that eliminates the need for umbrellas and fills the air with resin-scented warmth. The water is strikingly clear, with a rocky seabed perfect for snorkeling among small fish and sea urchins. The beach itself is relatively compact, which means it fills up quickly on summer weekends — local families arrive early to claim the best spots under the trees. When the crowds become too much, the adjacent Charamida Beach offers a spacious pebble alternative just a short walk away. A seasonal kantina provides drinks and basic refreshments. The setting is genuinely magical: the combination of Aleppo pines, turquoise water, and the quiet sound of cicadas creates something closer to a natural spa than a typical beach.
Before you go
What to expect
The pines at Agios Ermogenis grow so close to the water that you snorkel in their shade — the air smells of resin and salt, and the sea is clear enough to watch sea urchins move across the rocky bottom. It is a compact, intimate beach where families spread out early and cicadas fill the silences between swimmers. A small seasonal kantina keeps drinks coming without breaking the spell.
Best time to visit
