Best time to visit
May through October is ideal for two-wheel rentals; July and August are hot, so early-morning starts make the riding far more comfortable.

Petra sits on the northwest coast, roughly a 45–50 minute drive from Mytilene heading inland via Kalloni before curving up toward the coast.

2 / 5 ☆ because the staff is friendly. Not all scooters work properly. 1. Our scooter had a broken gas tank meter. We almost ended up with no gas left on the road. 2. Also, the mirrors of the scooters were unoriginal, second hand and unadjustable mirrors glued with superglue, which offered very little rear visibility. 3. The night light was almost nonexistent at this scooter. 4. I as a driver, received a helmet which had no visor. It was probably the only helmet suitable for my head which is big. But driving with a helmet without visor is almost impossible at a speed of over 40km/h. Nonetheless, staff is friendly, I believe this black 80cc scooter was rather an exception and I also believe the other rented scooters here could be working better than this particular one that we were given.

I wanted to rent a scooter in may 2023 in Petra. There were a couple of choices. And I do like to shop around. After checking out all the hire shops I went with Euro motors. Dora the owner was very nice and very helpful. She gave me a very good price for a week. Better than anywhere else. Her selection of bikes were all in good order. And she had a vast choice of helmets. She supplied a map and plenty of advice about the island. What a difference she made to our holiday. 5 days of bike hire and we discovered every little village and bay. I will hire again next year when we return for a short break.

Great bikes, everything works properly! Low kilometrage bikes. Reasonable prices. They were naturally not happy we brought back the bikes with some scratches (knocked over parked in 100 km/h winds) but everything settled amiably and professionally...
