Ismini appartments
Visitors say
Very clean and nice apartment, very friendly owners who do everything they can to make their guests feel comfortable. Within walking distance of the beach and Petra's tavernas. We loved staying here!
Very good but small apartment with small air conditioning and nice swimming pool where you can lie quietly on free beds, garden and lots of stray cats
About
Nestled in the charming village of Petra on the northwestern coast of Lesvos, Ismini Apartments offers visitors a comfortable and welcoming base from which to explore one of the island's most beloved destinations. Petra itself is known for its distinctive rock formation topped by the Church of the Sweet-Kissing Virgin, its long sandy beach, and its relaxed, authentically Greek atmosphere — making it an ideal location for travellers seeking a genuine island experience away from the busier resort towns.
The apartments provide self-catering accommodation that suits both couples and families looking for flexibility during their stay. Having your own space in a village like Petra means you can shop at the local market, cook a meal with fresh Lesvian produce, and settle into the slow, satisfying rhythm of island life. The surrounding area offers easy access to the beach, traditional tavernas, and the village's pedestrian-friendly centre, where kafeneions and ouzo bars invite leisurely afternoons.
For those using Lesvos as a base for wider exploration, Ismini Apartments sits within comfortable reach of the Gulf of Kalloni, the petrified forest near Sigri, and the artistic village of Molyvos just a short drive up the coast. Whether you are birdwatching in the wetlands, hiking coastal paths, or simply unwinding by the sea, returning each evening to your own quiet apartment in Petra adds a grounding sense of home to the adventure of discovering this extraordinary Aegean island.
Before you go
What to expect
Staying at Ismini Apartments puts you inside village life rather than at its edges — Petra's sandy beach is a short stroll away and the distinctive rock topped by the village church is visible from most streets. Mornings here tend to mean fresh bread from the bakery and coffee at a waterfront table; evenings draw you toward the ouzo bars and tavernas around the pedestrian centre. The self-catering setup suits a slower pace, where picking up fresh produce at the village market becomes part of the experience itself.
Best time to visit
Late May through September suits the beach and outdoor dining; July and August bring more visitors to Petra's popular shore.
How to get there
From Mytilene, take the main road northwest through Kalloni and continue toward the north coast; Petra is roughly an hour's drive, with the iconic rock formation announcing the village as you approach.

Excellent accommodation, but sparse kitchenware. For 3 people, 3 plates, 3 sets of cutlery, no pans, and 3 glasses.

Happy with the 1 bedroom apartment with double bed + single bed in the main room with kitchenette (utensils reduced to the bare minimum), clean and well located in relation to the sandy beaches with sunbeds (rented for €5/person/day or consumption on site).

Great apartments. Within walking distance of the town center and close to the beautiful beach of Petra. You won't want for anything, or just ask the owner. Good cleaning and regular change of linens and towels. The air conditioning works perfectly, which is also necessary. If you really want to go out, you'll need to rent a car.

Great accommodation with nice people! Clean, great beds, shower etc. Super sweet, they left home made cake for us on the first day. The pool is nice and quiet with lots of sunbeds. My kids loved this. The beach with beach bars is close by, Petra centre a little further but you still be able to walk to it. Amazing view over the country side.

Very nice apartment/house. The location is fantastic. Very quiet, and a 1 km walk to the supermarket. Good mattresses, the pool isn't large, but it's lovely for swimming. Everything is very neat and clean. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic holiday. Beautiful, small, and quiet complex. Renovated rooms. Friendly owner and ideal location. We had an apartment with a very large balcony and a beautiful view. The pool isn't deep, but that wasn't a problem for us. It's more for cooling off. Close to the town center and a great car ride to explore the entire island.
