Hotel Molyvos I
Visitors say
I can not talk about the rooms, because I used only the beach. You pay only 3.5 Euro for sunbed, 4 Euro for beer. The beach has a peaceful atmosphere, there is no noice. Swimming with the view of Molivos is really nice.
We used the beach area of this hotel — sunbeds and umbrellas cost €3.5 per person. It was quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing without loud music or crowds.
About
Hotel Molyvos I sits in one of Lesvos's most celebrated destinations, the medieval village of Molyvos perched on a hillside above the northern Aegean. The village, also known as Mythimna, is crowned by a Byzantine-era castle and laced with cobblestone lanes, traditional stone houses, and bougainvillea-draped balconies — a setting that makes any stay here feel unhurried and genuinely atmospheric.
As a hotel in this storied village, Hotel Molyvos I offers guests a comfortable base for exploring everything the north of Lesvos has to offer. From the doorstep, visitors can wander down to the small fishing harbor, browse the village's boutiques and galleries, and dine at tavernas serving fresh seafood and local Lesvorian specialties. The surrounding area rewards those who venture further with volcanic hot springs at Eftalou a short drive away, sweeping coastal scenery, and quiet pebbly beaches.
Whether you are drawn to Molyvos for its history, its Aegean light, or simply the pleasure of slow travel in a Greek village that has changed little in character over the centuries, Hotel Molyvos I provides a welcoming place to return to after a day of discovery. Its location in the heart of this iconic village means that the best of northern Lesvos is always within easy reach.
Before you go
What to expect
Staying in Molyvos means waking to cobbled alleys winding past flowering balconies and the castle silhouette overhead. Mornings at the small fishing harbor carry a quiet, lived-in rhythm before the day heats up, and evenings draw guests to hillside tavernas where grilled fish and local ouzo feel like the natural conclusion to any day here. The village pace is unhurried in a way that feels earned rather than performed.
Best time to visit
Late May through June and September are ideal — warm enough to swim at nearby beaches, but before or after the peak August heat and crowds.
How to get there
Molyvos is roughly a one-hour drive north from Mytilene along the coastal road. Renting a car is worthwhile, as it also puts the volcanic hot springs at Eftalou just a few kilometres outside the village within easy reach.

I had the chance to stay at Molyvos 1 Hotel for 3 nights. In my opinion, it's quite successful in terms of value for money. The staff are very kind and friendly. Breakfast is more than sufficient. The hotel is located by the sea and has its own beach — sunbeds are paid (€3.5). It's ideal for those looking to relax and enjoy a quiet holiday.

We've stayed in the room which had sea view. Has a little , nice balcony. It was clean. The furniture was very old. Breakfast was good and enough. You may go to the restaurants, Molivos harbour, castle and the shops by walking which was a really nice experiment. There was a beach. (Just remainder; sun longers are rented for 2.5 euro per person.day)

Fantastic location right on the water, and very close to the centre of Molyvos. Single beds very hard, but that is pretty standard in Greece!

Superb real beach front location with nice trees around, and beach chairs. Simple but nice functioning rooms, not the best but adequate full buffet breakfast.Host cordial and accommodating. Please note Delfinia Hotel is far away, at the very edge of town. We are coming back.

Very good value hotel. Superb position on seafront. Tables on terrace next to the sea and in the shade of palm trees. Bar servicing terrace. Good room with en suite and balcony. Fridge in room. Air conditioning. Our balcony was rear facing but lovely and cool and views of mountains with olive and palm trees. Good continental breakfast. However no safe in room or kettle.

I didn't stay at this hotel this time, but I used the sunbeds in front of the hotel. It is the most preferred place there. We met Kostas there. He does his job efficiently. He can establish very good relations with customers. He's a real environmentalist. Please pick up your litters. Efharisto.

Molivos as a very cosy town is a perfect spot for history and architecture lovers. Wherever you stay, you will never regret the area. (However, if you are a fan of swimming in azure, blue water Molivos sea is not for you. It is not crystal clear or turquoise) Hotel Molyvos is just by the sea, but they do not serve you sunbed and shades. Their claim is that it is the public beach. They may have reserved a reasonable number of sunbeds and umbrellas for their guests as compliment because it is not a low price hotel. The room facilities are so poor. We stayed on the 1st floor just on the right handside corridor and the bathroom was disgustingly smelling cigarette/smoke, which shows there is something wrong with the air circulation. Breakfast is okey and fresh. The place is very suitable for families with kids in terms of closeness to the public beach.
