About

Tucked into the landscape near Pligoni, the Lesvos Tennis Club offers a welcoming sporting retreat for visitors who want to stay active while exploring the island. With courts available for play, the club provides a refreshing outlet for tennis enthusiasts of all levels, whether you are looking to keep up a regular practice during your holiday or simply enjoy a casual game with family or friends against the backdrop of the Aegean countryside.

The club brings a convivial, community atmosphere that is characteristic of Greek sporting culture, where the court is as much a social space as a competitive one. Visitors will find that locals and holidaymakers mix easily here, and the relaxed pace of island life lends itself naturally to a few unhurried sets in the warm Aegean sun. It is the kind of place where a morning match can easily stretch into a leisurely conversation over refreshments.

For active travellers seeking a break from the beach and sightseeing circuit, the Lesvos Tennis Club is a pleasant and practical stop. Its location near Pligoni places it within easy reach of the wider Mytilene area, making it a convenient option whether you are staying in the capital or exploring the surrounding villages. If you travel with a racket or are simply open to an impromptu game, this club is well worth seeking out.

Before you go

What to expect

The courts sit in quiet east-Lesvos countryside near Pligoni, where the backdrop is olive-dotted hillside rather than resort infrastructure. The atmosphere is sociable and unhurried — locals and visiting players share sets naturally, and a morning match often drifts into easy conversation rather than a final scoreline.

Best time to visit

Late spring through early autumn offers the best playing conditions; in July and August, morning sessions are far more comfortable before the midday heat builds.

How to get there

From Mytilene, head north-east toward Pligoni — the drive takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes. The club is located near the village and is most easily reached by car.
